just installed GIAC X-Chip---WHAT 2 DO NEXT TO INCREASE POWER

Well, I'm a proud owner of a 00 1.8TQ Audi. I bought the car used with 64,000 miles on it and within a month I had the timing belt changed, all vacuum hoses, water pump, thermostat, new plugs, K&N air filter, N75 valve, and I believe "THE PIG" also put in a TT diverter valve. After a couple of months of driving and my buddy "CAPONE" begging me to buy a chip, I finally broke down and spent the $550 to get my X-Chip. Now I wonder why I didn't buy the chip the day I got my car. I LOVE THIS CHIP!!!! Anyways, car makes 15psi but tapers down and I would really like to do some other mods to the car to make it quicker. What I was thinkin is a MBC and I was also going to have a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back put on the car using a Borla muffler and tips. I know that 3 inch is quite big but I will be stage 3 by the end of summer or over winter this year. Should I use the borla or what do u recommend, magnaflow? I was told with the MBC and maybe a aftermarket BOV my car should really fly? But I would rather listen to the HARDCORE 1.8T guys on this forum before I just dump money on parts I might not need. Well first off skip the BOV and the MBC won't make it fly. The K03 just isn;t going to get you the great power that the T28 and GT28 guys are making. I wasn't aware that Borla ran a 3" exhaust either.

I thought the X-chip was only for the '01 their boss. And your boost should be a heck of a lot higher w/ the agressive x-chip. Search audiworld for info regarding the J31....andi think you may have the wrong chip, becasue x is only for 2001's. look into the K04 setupi w/ the J31

X-chip huh if you have a 2000 1.8T they don't make a X-chip for it. X-chip is for 2001+ cars. The Pig? are you talking about Piggie (Mike)? You could try a MBC in conjunction with your chip just don't crank it up to much 20-22PSI max with a K03. I would just stick with the TT BPV or a good aftermarket one no BOV.

If your car is a 2000, then you do not have a x-chip in it...

15psi of boost is the stage-1 1.0Bar program...

Your next route for an upgrade is the K04 route with the k05 GIAC software...
After that should you get a FMIC then you can go to the J31 setup...J31 is for k04-015+fmic on a 2000 model year car only...

Avoid BOV's, and a 3" exhaust is overkill...

For a stage 3 kit, 2.75 is more than enough...

If you are going for a stage3 kit, then start saving now and enjoy your car as it currently is...

Thanks for all the replies. Sorry but I thought I got the X-Chip apparently I'm mistaken. I got a GIAC chip that I know of I assumed it was a X-Chip. Burntaudi--yes I'm talking about piggie and I will call him to send me a MBC. Also thanks for all the replies about the K04 with J31 but I'm not going to waste a $ on a K04 I would rather save to buy a stage 3 kit. If you guys think that a 3 inch exhaust is over-kill then I'll go with the 2.75 and evil-audi I also assumed I could get a 3inch Borla muffler didn't really do the research or maybe 3 inch from the turbo back to a 2.75 inlet muffler that hopefully shouldn't be too bad. Thanks for all replies. BTW, I checked on GIAC website and under the 1.8T Audi they have chips from 2000-2004 but none of them say X-Chip I guess I should know what I'm talking about before I stick my foot in my mouth. That's what I get for being a NOOB. ----LOL-----

Obviously you have not seen the numbers the J31 has put up. W/ new injectors, exhaust, filter, correct software, and a FMIC (along w/ the turbo, of course) you will be pushing 340+ flywheel torque, and about 250 hp. That is insane. And for less than HALF the cost of a Stage 3....but hey, its your car. And if i had a 2000, i'd already have the J31 software.

Skip the BOV, a 2.75 exhaust is all you need. A '3 will be too wide and porbably hurt you a little. With thte KO3, getting a MBC won't help much since anything over 17-18 PSI is useless due to the heat it would be generating.
