    Question about S4 HID housings

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm doing a conversion from two-piece halogens to one-piece HID housings with an HID kit. It's turning out to be a quite nice solution and cost effective. I'll post about it later but.....

My question is, the actual projectors in these S4 HID housings seem to pivot up and down quite freely. I anticipate that if I hit bumps, they will rattle, and my light will rattle too. Is there a way to lock the vertical adjustment in place or is that the auto leveling motor's job?(the auto leveling motor that I don't have)

you can get a plastic stopper that go into the place where the autoleveling motor would go. They were used in halogen headlight but i think you can get them to fit the xenon housing.

the reason for the constant movement is because the S4 Xenons have auto leveling causeing the projector to move up and down. I wouldn't expect yours to do the same unless you have auto leveling already programed intoyour car. I had switched from 1 piece halogens to the S4's and since my car didn't have auto level the S4 don't auto level.

No, I think he is missing the autolevel motor in there so there is actually a gap. He need to get the stopper.

The stopper looks like this little plastic plug that goes in the place of the auto leveling motor. Very easy to install.

Hey thanks for your help guys. I'll have a better look at it tonight when I get home. I was up till 3 last night doing the wiring on the lights. Once I blew the 10 amp fuse I decided to sleep.

There are other things you can use other than the plugs if you can't find them.

The auto leveling motors are on the bottom sides of the inner housing. Looks like a small black box with a ball and joint setup.

You can replace it with a 15amp fuse.

I was only asking to see what other alternatives I had becase I am not expecting the dealer to sell them seperatly.

And by the way ProtocolD, no need to be rude just because I didn't buy your $hit.

    Here's a tip:
Don't be such an a$$hole and maybe one day somone will pay $340 for a pair of ballasts from you.

If the dealer dont carry them separately, I would not even suggest it to you. If you dont know about that, ask. They are only a few bucks.

I was gonna go help you dig up the part #. But nevermind.

If I want to be an asshole, I would not even suggest it to you at the first place. Read back to see who tell you that in case you forget.

I think I would stop answering your questions, it seems that you are not appreciating.

Even if you want to buy my stuff, I am not sure if i want to sell it to you. I enjoy more when I am working with someone that would appreciate it better.

    Protocold,

When I read your post I did not see that it was you that had been posting already. I thought that cheap thing was your first reply to my thread and I apologize.

I still don't like being called cheap though.
