Trophy trucks and misc.

Here is an insane pic of Robby Gordon out at Glamis. This pic doesn't even do it justice, but it is the only one I could find. That is a motocross jump! He has done this jump many times in several different trucks. There is even a video of him and Kurt Leduc in a jump off.

There is another pic with the same jump and he is skying over (about 10-15 ft. above) a huge lifted Ford Super duty.

I can remember the exact distance, but I believe it is over 100ft. from launch to landing and around 20ft high in the air.

HA! that jump is a classic photo op for all the dirt riders but that's incredible that they can jump their trucks from that location

Those are their actual Trophy trucks they race in. There are other pics of Robby in one of his newer trucks. They bring their $200,000+ trucks out there, slap some paddles on the rear, and proceed to beat the hell out of them. Gordon has lots of money so he can afford it. His latest truck has 34" of wheel travel up front and around 38" in the rear, a piece of metal art. The truck pushes over 600hp if I can remember correctly.

I was about two seconds away from buying double cab Tacoma before I bought the B6. I was going to buy that same long travel kit or the one from Total Chaos. Oh well, I still want a truck as a second vehicle though. Too bad I barely make any money. Maybe after I graduate from SDSU this year...

It is! Though, Robby Gordon races off road, does really well in Nascar, and owns a race shop. So, he has enough money to say the least. You should see the toys he brings out to the desert besides his truck. The same trip in the picture he also brought his dirt bike, ATV, long travel buggy, trailer, another truck, and motorhome.

trophy trucks (class 1 + 10 cars, open 7's and 8 trucks also for that matter) are sweet. I was building a class 8, but gave up. if you know anyone interested... selling it cheap.

His new Redbull truck? That truck is amazing. His shop is right in Anaheim right? Yeah, I catch a few guys driving their toys around my neighborhood, but nothing like a trophy truck. Just saw a guy drive by my house the other day with a long travel buggy. It had full custom paint and a turboed Suburu motor that puts out something around 400hp. That thing has to be quick since it only weighs a couple thousand pounds if even that.

the camburg guys have (or had) a buggy like that. it was nuts, they got it from the baldwins and put a camry aluminum block v6 in it. it had like 375 horsepower (in a 1650lb car) and they were going to supercharge (or turbo, i don't remember it) to put it at like 500 hp. damn.

then the kicker, another friend of mine (matt from paradigmn race cars) had an lt1 corvette engine in his car. oh, but it wasn't stock, it had twin turbos on it. yeah, like 750hp. in a 2000lb car. ridiculous, it sounded like an f1 car

Twin tubo LS1, my dream. My dad's friend has one with a normal LS1, but damn. His other friend has one with a supercharged Chevy 4.3 liter V6.

My friend actually built most of his long travel buggy buy himself. He did a ton of the fab work and he is only 22 years old. He has a turbo Suburu in that one. It just needs to be painted and it will be awesome. I rode in his previous turbo Suburu buggy and that was nuts. Hit like 90mph in the sand. I had to hold on to my sunglasses to keep them from flying away. We ended up blowing his turbo up. He had to limp it all the back to Gordon's from Glamis.

^^^ sounds like my truck. I did 90% of it myself. it was a roller, but i redid everything + then lost time / interest. it woudl be nuts. I could run 90 through the whoops in it no problem, the top speed would be about 140!!!

havent seen the new redbull truck, nor have i seen him recently drivin around. i highly doubt he blasts around on the streets often, people with horses get anal about that stuff, i saw him at night.

also, funny you should mention the subaru engined buggy, my friends dad has a new buggy with a wrx engine.. it doesnt have 400hp, but since the buggy is so light the thing is pretty fast i hear, yet to ride in it though.

I was thinking about it actually. I was going to talk to some people about finishing it for me since it's looking like I can only get litke $8k for it unfinished, but 15-20 running.
it'd be fun as hell, you're in for a ride for sure if I finish it.
