FS: (2) slotted A8 front brake rotors & (2) TT carriers for sale for B5's

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a used (<5k miles) pair of OEM slotted A8 brake rotors and TT carriers to upgrade the front brakes on your B5 A4. They are a direct bolt on- no shaving or machining of any parts. You only need to supply brake pads. Go to www.ecstuning.com for more details as this is where they were purchased. Looking for $375/OBO. Local buyers preferred, or seller pays for additional shipping costs (they're pretty heavy).

Just added: slotted rear A4 brake rotors.
$425 for everything! (does not include shipping costs)

NOTE: You will need 16" wheels minimum to clear this front brake upgrade.

Would you consider selling just the rotors?

i'll sell them separately if someone else only wants the tt carriers- otherwise, it's a pkg deal.

if you want the carriers and spam wants the rotors, then we can split the package. $225 for the carriers and $150 for the rotors. shipping not included.

I'm from the bay area and am interested. Could you tell me the difference you felt going from stock to the A8 brakes?

Better grab and bite than stock... I think ECS provides an explanation of having a larger rotor makes it easier for the caliper to clamp down. My wife (ne_or_audi) said she felt a difference. dtmevolution and saturnine have had these setups on their B5's. Good brake upgrade for those on a budget, esp. since most of the braking on a car is done using the fronts.

I think a little HS physics can explain this pretty easily. Torque is a result of force(friction of brake pads) multiplied by lenght(In this case the lenght is measured by the center of the disc to somewhere near the edge of the rotor). By changing the rotor size you are also changing the length used to calculate torque but the force is still the same amount and so the braking torque is changes accordingly. You also decrease brake fade because of the larger surface area means more cooling(think there is at least another factor dealing w/ rotational distances and time) I'm sure its much more complicated then that and there are other factors but plain and simple your increasing a braking torque.

Also, have a set of ECS rear slotted rotors off of a 2000 A4 2.8q. Selling for $75/pr. Package deal for anyone who wants the whole brake set up (slotted A8 front rotors, TT carriers, and slotted A4 rear rotors- all purchased from ECStuning for over $570). $425 takes it all (shipping not included). Rotors are in very good condition as they've been used less than 5000 miles. Email if interested!

I'd be interested but $375 is a bit high for a used kit. Pure motorsports has the same kit new for $400.

    B5 A4 Stage 1 brake kit - $325

Didn't realize that (but I think OEM A8 slotted is more $ than the Powerslot rotors).... With this in mine, I am now asking for $325 for the whole kit (front/rear slotted rotors and TT carriers) . After taking pics, I realized that the front rotors have worn down more than I remember. They should still provide you with 5k miles of life before you'd need new rotors but they'd give you something to upgrade to in the meantime.

New lower price- $300 for everything or I will now consider selling the parts separately! (i.e. TT carriers w/ free A8 rotors if you want them and slotted rear rotors w/ lots of life still in them).

tt carriers have been sold. the front a8 rotors might have around 1000 miles left on them (depending on how hard you brake). the rear slotted rotors i would say have at least 80% life in them. i put them on for about 5000 miles before selling the car, and as we all know, most of the stopping force is in the front brakes, so the rear rotors don't even need to be resurfaced.
