has anyone upgraded to larger injectors, or added an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, on stock turbos with a chip??
i've been looking at some stuff on ecs.tuning, and was wondering if anyone has tried any of this stuff...

no but it has been on my mind a lot! i was really trying to drop the loot on the k04's first because i have not seen apr programs to support k03's and higher flowing injectors.

Stock turbos with a chip should provide a stoich condition as far as fueling goes. If you add a larger FPR, 5bar, you will run rich which is not as bad as running lean but, has it's own long term detriment (carbon deposits inside combustion chamber, a reduction in spark plug life, oil deposits, etc.)

Most of the guys who run a larger FPR are running whats called a Stage III- kit. In this scenerio they have a Stage I chip but, also have K04's on the car. The concern has been that without boost regulation(i.e. MBC in parallel configuration) spikes, different spool characteristics, and other phenomina can introduce a lean condition due to the different mapping necessary to optimize the K04's.

IMO....you should not need a larger FPR for K03's unless your are running an MBC in series and/or bypassing the N75 and N249 valves in an effort to run higher boost. Which in turn presents it's own problems.......but that is a personal decision.

On the other hand, full Stage III is an entirely different story.....

yeah. i figured that stock injectors should be up to the task.
but i'm i think i'm running a little lean, dont know for sure. need to check fuel trim. but i was thinking that an adjustable fuel pressure reg, might help out, and richen up the mix, maybe cool down the comb. chamber.

i'm all about the stage III, but i have yet to win the lottery....

If you think you are leaning out watch your lambda blocks on Vag-com and if you need correction then download a copy of lemmiwinks and up your primary fuel tweak. You can also increase the fuel load under increasing pedal presure with this program.......and it is shareware. Prior to changing your fuel trim you might want to cycle your injectors and run some celaner through them.......just some suggestions.
