Based on your list of priorities, I would recommend the Thermal as well (personal experience on my S4). If you were to trade look and price, I would aslo consider Borla (personal experience on every other car until the S4 - no Borla available). I'm not familiar enough with any of the other euro suppliers to make an informed recommendation.

Hey "SOASOAS" Can I ask why you said: "If you were to trade look and price, I would also consider Borla"? I have a 3.0 as well and my criteria is more or less the same as "Power AE4" Give me the low down on the looks vs. the price.

As I mentioned, I have used Borla on several vehicles and even been a test vehicle once. These folks will not sell something that doesn't deliver as promised - it may not look the best and it may even have a 'drone zone' at some RPM but it will perform. However, their choice of exhast tips leaves me cold. I haven't looked to see what they currently have available but their typical approach of sticking a 3 inch outlet on 2 1/4 inch pipe 3 inches from the end just looks silly to me. Also, from what I've seen of their prices compared to Thermal and Milltek, the Borla is always a few hundred bucks cheaper and the difference in quality (welds, fit, finish) is a draw between the Borla and Thermal (I have heard but not seen the Milltek - someone closer may want to comment).

It occurs to me that most of my Borla experience has been with vehicles which the owner typically wants every last HP. For cars like BMW and Audi they might spend a little more time working the look and sound aspect - does anybody know?

    Thanks for the insight

The biggest difference between Thermal and Milltek is that Milltek offers both resonated and non resonated. Most of the S4 people that I have talked to go with Milltek because of the availability of down pipes. I think from a cat back system they are very close, but the Thermal looks better. The Thermal is full polish while the Milltek is polish just at the tips.
