I spy with my little eye.......a GT-40!!!!!!!!

OK, hears the story, a few weeks ago, I was going to Nashville to pick my buddy up from the airport. Well I decide to get gas before I left. As I turn into the BP, I glance across the intersection, and what do I see??? No, couldn't be, or wait, yes, YES it is!!! It's a GT 40. Well I look all over the place in my car for a camera. Can't find one. So I get out and look in the trunk. Oh hear it is, lets go take some pics. Right, wrong. I didn't have any film. So what did I HAVE to do??? I went inside the gas station and bought a $7 roll of 400 speed film!!! $7!!! Oh well I think it was quite worth it. Oh yeah, that guy standing in the background of the first pic is the guy that was driving. He worked for Ford and had driven it from Michigen. Wouldn't you just hate to have his job?? Anyways, hear are the pics. Enjoy!!

I know that I need a digital camera, don't worry I will be buying one soon.

Oh, and it's simply called the "Ford GT". They aren't allowed to throw the "40" on there anymore. Legal reasons.

The 360 modena is gonna get owned by this beauty. Hopefully cool cars like this will be the new trend in the US auto industry. im sick of buying this foreign crap. IF i had the money, id by a Ford GT in every color. I really, really like this car.

I wonder how many times that guy had to stop for gas... They get about 10-12 miles to the gallon on a 17 gallon tank. The car is only 43 inches tall, the transmission shifter can be shifted with a single finger. Top speed of 212. The engine block is basically the same as the f-150 lightning. Pretty damn sweet car.

I saw one just outside of San Luis Obispo about a month ago.... In a rally!

Along with the GT I came across tons of porsches, a lotus, feraris, a lamborghini, and some other unqiue rides I can't think of. Never did figure out what rally/run it was. I know it was some some sort of run because the cars had stickers all over them.

Legal reasons being that the old ones were called the GT40?? I didn't know that. Ya learn somethin new everyday!!

the GT-40 was designed, tested, and built in britain by ford's division in the UK. It was Ford's answer to ferrari in le mans since enzo backed out selling ferrari to ford. The GT-40 is a british car just funded by Ford in america. I like what they did with the new GT.

Yes our work has one purchased for $160,000! CHEAP, considering they're already selling for $250,000 + I hear...

The reason it's only the GT (legal) is because the GT-40 name is owned by Carroll Shelby. Ford did not want to have to pay him for the name, so they simply call it the GT.

are you sure its owned by shelby? i could of swore it was owned by some private "no name" owner.
