It all depends on how adapt at using tools you are. If you can barely change a flat tire, I recommend you let someone else do the shifter. If you can change your sway bars/suspension I say you should have no problem. If you can install a whole new interior, seats, custom head unit, monitors in the headrests then I ask why you are asking.

Otherwise, I have a write up with pictures and video here on how to install it.

    Good luck and enjoy.

Install is cake. You will have to play with it a bit to get it adjusted so shifting between gears is smooth. Just take you time.

    PS remove the ashtray.

I have no problems with shifting at all. It is so smooth and short. I get compliments from everyone I let drive my car. Other than the chip, this is the best mod for daily enjoyment. Yeah, the ashtray sucked a$$. I had a bitch of a time with it. Couldnt get it completely out so I just moved it enough to work around. Then had problems getting it seated back to its original position. Now I could do it easily as I know what to feel for. The webpage should really help though on the install, if not, Im always available online for assistance.

as Mark said, remove the ashtry. easiest way to do that is to get/make a set of radio tools, pull the radio out partially, and then push out the climate control unit from behind and then disconnect it.

for tools, you'll need a thin flathead screwdriver (to remove one-time use clamp holding shift boot collar to shifter), 8mm socket, 10mm socket, 3" socket extension, 6" socket extension, T30 torx bit/driver, 6mm allen/hex key/socket, and a pair of circlip pliers (or small needlenose pliers)
