Debadging.. HELP a brotha out!

Alright so i just debadged my car by using the dental floss/goo gone method and its looks really clean. But it seems the parts I debadged are a lighter tint than the rest of the car. Will it go away after time? If not what should I do?

mines been gone for 2 years... i can still see the damn ghost marks on the car... btw my color is black so that could be the reason why

My badges were on since 97, and I just took them off this summer. I have a blue car, and there was still no noticeable fade.

You may want to try claybarring the car, polishing real good, and then waxing.

Any recommended products i should use to buff/polish it? I just washed it...Some people told me it just needs a couple of days in the sun light and it should blend together smoothly...Is that correct?

A couple days in the sunlight probably will not equate to many years in the sunlight, so I don't think that will change anything.

Just wash it real good, then clay bar, then polish, then wax. Mequiar's 3 Step is at most auto stores, and will do the job. Just make sure you get the clay too.

Wash it 2 times * i use zip wax car wash * then use a good wax. I have pearl white also there was not really a HUGE notice. You really have to be looking for it.

The only thing is you want to make sure you clay bar, then use the paint cleaner/polish, then wax.

Wax by itself won't do anything except put a coating over the affected area.

use a very fine polishing compound. takes a little time and elbow grease but works great. then clean, polish and wax like everyone else said.

My different color thing sorta faded away after a week or two, figured a couple of car washes and some sun would do the trick. *shrugs

Either way, it's not a big deal that can't be fixed.

when i did mine i was able to se where the badges were, but i clay bar'd and waxed it a few times and it was ok

haha i have no idea what clay barring is.. what is it, where do i get it, and how do i use it?

just do a search for "clay bar" you will come up with many many threads. Basicaly a clay bar is used to remove contaminates from the paint, like tar and road grime. You can get one at any automotive store. You use it buy first washing and drying your car, then you apply the lubricating spray to a small section of the car. You then rub the clay bar back and forth over the are you sprayed. When you get done with one area, work the bar for a little while so you have a clean area to use. It's really simple. I prob didn't describe how to use it very well but if you search for it I'm sure someone else describes it better. Also, the kit comes with instructions. Hope this was somewhat helpful.

Maybe clay barring it'll work but my baby's a 2000 and i debadged it about year ago and its totally still visible. I got it waxed and washed several times but not polished or clay barred so try that, brotha.

all i did on mine, wash then claybar, then 3M imperial hand glaze, then a good coat of wax. done. no visible marks at all.
