Heard a weird noise from the motor thought it was light rod knocking, turns out to be bad water pump. Took it to the technician started looking at it and heard a few things told me it was the water pump that is bad. Now do the water pumps just stop working or will they start making noise or show some sign that its about to go bad? What parts should i change when changing the waterpump? What would a job like this cost me in parts and labor? Please help before it gets worse.

warranty work. take it to the dealer.

water pump functioning is dependent upon rpm of the engine, and even stock drivers see redline. engine modifications wouldn't effect it too much. unless you had an aftermarket radiator or new pulleys, they won't have reason to void a water pump failure.
