Turbocharged Lexus IS300 - Pictures, videos and info *NO 56k*

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Anthony thought I should make a post with pictures of my IS. So I thought I would post in here. Scrool down for cool videos of dyno runs, street footage and races.

    Now the cool part...videos

Back in the day when I had a normal Stage 2 (roughly 320 hp to the wheels @ 8.5 psi): http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/Stage2Dyno.mov

    Same thing, different angle: http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/DynoExhaustStg2.mov

This is a dyno after getting a headgasket and pumping up boost. With the normal stage 2, 9 psi was the max. Now I could boost 15 psi. This was 373rwhp and 350rwtq 12.8 (15 psi would probably be around 400rwhp): http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/LilDyno.mov

Me launching like an idiot on only 215 wide winter tires http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/Launchon215.mov

In this run, you can see fire shoot from the exhaust during the second shift: http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/Lilflame.mov

This shows off the speedo upclose to show how quick it is. Keep in mind, the launch was done on 215 wide winter tires at a conservative 11psi. (I can run 15 psi if I choose to): http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/SRTVB.mov

    Races -

Me vs. a WRX with a VF23 turbo upgrade, front mount intercooler, reworked tranny gears, manual. He says it runs in the 12's in the 1/4. In this race, I was only on my Stage 2 which was around 320rwhp: http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/SRTStage2vsWRXVF23.mov

Me. vs. ASA Stage 1 Supercharged BMW 330i. A member on e46fanatics started talking trash and kept challenging me saying how he will blow me away. I accepted his challenge and this was the result. Again, in this race, I was only on my Stage 2 which was around 320rwhp: http://kryptonik.org/lilis300/TurboISvsSC330.mov

    Enjoy!

Thanks, I just wanted to put on an aftermarket bumper and some other visual stuff (headlights, grill, rims...well more for grip). I like clean looking rides.

Unfortunatly, i'm selling the car because I need AWD. So what better car than the S4? The STi and EVO's are just speed. The S4 looks better than both of them, has class, luxury and great performance. Plus, you can't go wrong with the mods you can do to it.

I'm gonna miss it alot, but I know the S4 is going to be great.

Finally someone with the taste to know that speed is not the only option, it's nice to have some real luxury with it too. Good luck.

Very nice IS300 you have there, but you won't miss it much when you get the S4, you want the ultimate S4 power, talk to the guys at TJM Motorsport Dahlback Racing USA, www.audituning-usa.com.

Ah there we go! That's a pretty mean "lil" IS.

My girlfriend and I were looking at these, and I was getting pretty excited to get my hands on one to mod. Put a hold on those plans for now, unfortunately.

Good stuff, and thank you for sharing!

    Thanks for the compliments

As for my S4, I don't see myself doing the extreme modifications to it like I did with the IS. I'm taking a different appraoch to it. Sleeper style, everything subtle. If I get the an exhaust, it'll be supersprint cause it's quiet. I'll probably get the ABT chip also.

I'm very concerned with warranty, so I don't plan on going further than Stage 2. If the K03's blow, more K03's will be going back in...along with the stock ECU When the warranty is dead, then the K04's go in and it's time for some fun.

I don't even own the S4, and i've already ordered a mod. (yes, I'm a freak when it comes to keeping things stock). I had tycoon make me a alcantara black boot with grey stitching with a B6 S4 knob, so it'll fit in the B5 (i've always liked the way the new s4 knob over the b5). I'm also planning on getting ToyGuys stealth V1 display since I already have a Valentine 1 from the IS. And finally, getting a custom dash made with the Pioneer Avic-n1...you gotta love the all in one unit.

So how's that sound? ABT Chip, supersprint exhaust, custom boot and B6 knob, V1 stealth display, and Avic-n1?

Funny thing is, I consider that keeping it pretty much stock. If anybody has recommendations, let me know. I've been researching the S4 and aftermarket parts for quite some time now so i've become familiar with a lot of it.

Got the kit from Umnitza.com, they're "Gen V" kit specifically. They have a newer version which is even brighter.

Thanks again guys for the compliments. I appreciate it.

Isn't the IS300 motor suppose to be the non turbo motor of the supra?

Yea, we have the 2JZ-GE engine which is the same engine as the N/A Supra. It's almost as strong as the Supra Turbo engine (2JZ GTE) - when you swap in some GTE internals into the GE, it's just like a Supra.

But for me, i'm boosting on stock 2JZ-GE with just a headgasket to lower compression. 15 psi is the max, if I wanted to push more, i'd have to get GTE internals. There's an IS pushing 780+rwhp

BTW, I just got back (10 minutes ago) from racing a yellow bike on the highway. It had an exhaust, but I don't know which model it is (i'm not good with ID'ing bikes). We were equal until I got into 5th gear at 117mph then I slowly pulled. We slowed down, I gave him a thumbs up, he returned it and took off. I'm going to miss this car

that thing looks like a japanese dude with a foo-man-choo stache.... ;)
definitly crazy what kind of power you can get out of those with turbos or superchargers..
straight line cars though, havent heard much about how they do in the turns, thats a lot of power in a pretty small car with it all going to the rear wheels..

Slalom stock is 67 MPH...I also had thicker sways (front and rear) that eliminated almost all body roll. Eiback springs helped too. This thing was on RAILS.

Not to mention, stock brakes stop 60-0 in 112 ft. Gotta love these stock brakes.

My kit started out at $5,000. Then you need to add all the extras I have: Blitz boost controller, blitz powermeter, blitz turbo timer, blitz BLM gauges (EGT, Boost, Fuel pressure in a TRD gauge pod), HKS DLI, GReddy e-manage, SRT Valve body upgrade for the auto tranny, PFS full 3'' turbo exhaust and a TBKO 2mm headgasket.

All that is roughly $8800. Of course, that's the cost with all my upgrades. Had I just stayed at a simple Stage 2, I don't think I would have exceeded $7,000.

When you get into the dyno tuning and install, I would say it's dips into 10 grand when everything is said and done.

The next upgrade with be adding GTE internals which would probably be around 2 grand. But that would make it a beast cause you can push much higher PSI.
