What engine is in those things? I just saw a video of one up against a stage III S4 and it was loads faster!!

it is usually a 2 liter. those things are so easy to upgrade compared to our cars. oh well i would still rather have my car with headroom...

4G63T besides the 2JZ supra engine quite possibly one of the strongest engines ever built... my buddies made 450 to the wheels on stock fuel system.... (95% duty cycle on the injectors mind you on the stock 450cc's).... i fight myself daily not to buy a 2nd Generation GSX for a project car....

BTW I used to have a GSX awd eclipse and with some work done to it, it would have killed an S4. They are known for there ability to make a ton of power when modded.

A GSX with the "free mods" will murder a chipped S4 no problem i have seen them do very low 13's before... for those who dont know the 4G63T is the same block code as the Lancer Evo.... save a few minor things (turbo and have heard cams but not for sure) i believe also the that evo has the same throttle body (maybe entire top end minus cams) as the 1g eclipse

i would rather have a fast A4 and a faster GSX than an S4..... sorry but the S4 is a god damn tank... too heavy for my blood and the weight distribution isnt very good either.... same reasons i still drive an A4 and not an S4.... this does not mean that i dont love the S4 cause i do they are great cars just not for what i want to do....

that might be why you arent a fan.... fastest car i have ever been in was actually an eclipse. i wasnt a fan at all before. but there is just something about being able to flash the brights and turn the windshield wipers on when you dump the clutch at 5000 rpms that got me. pulling hard on ferraris and lambos helps too.

Never said I didn't ride in one. My friend has a Stg II GSX and yeah, its fast as shit, but I still hate them. I won't deny that they are very tunable and easily made quick, but I don't like everything else.

^^^LOL! It's alright...I had a '96 Talon TSi AWD before the WRX and it was plenty fun. But the interior wasn't it's strong suit thats for sure.

I was considering getting a GSX when I was looking for a car. I wanted 4 doors though so I got the Audi.

I knew a couple of guys that drag raced their GSX daily drivers and couldn't keep parts in them. Kept destroying the bottom- ends in them. One guy got in the high 10's before he gave up and bought a Camaro.

tuning owns him as long as you keep the A/F in the mid 12's and the timing under 25-ish they are ok.... i have seen numerous stock engines make over 500hp...

u can make a piece of shit fast but its still piece shit. i would never own something like that unless i was 17 and had a bit of pocket change and nothin else to do..
dont get me wrong, its impressive as hell to be able to have them put down so much power an all but.. blah, you can have it.
