Question ECS tuning Stage 4 Big Brake Kit .... anyone here using them? any review?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm thinking with BBK upgrade, I don't see too many people here use ECS tuning Stage 4 Big Brake Kit. I think they were very good price with 6 pot compare with other 4 pot BBK. Is there are anyone using the ECS tuning Stage 4 Big Brake Kit? any first hand review???

I have Them.! I love them!
and all I have to say about them is
    "They are amazing"
The stopping power is increased by a 100%
    but they are heavy.
I will post some pic's later because right now i don't have time!

I bought it and returned it. Purchased Stoptech BBK instead.

The ECS Stage 4 is Porsche CayenneS BBK. Very heavy rotors, calipers and pads. Only Porsche OEM pads available as far as I know. Also, the rotor doesn't resemble picture, ECS changed it. My Stage 4 BBK arrived in one box and poorly packaged (insufficient protection). The rotors were marked up and looked like they had been sitting outside in the moisture. One caliper was also marked up and dirty around the pistons (as if it had been used in some way).
Anyways, I wasn't too pleased with the way they packaged and shipped it, nor the condition and difference with the rotor (without being told). Wasn't too thrilled with their customer service either.

Although these Porsche BBK conversions work, they're not engineered for the A4 specifically. You don't need a 6 pot caliper. It also changes the way it works due to the master cylinder. You can end up with brake bias. If you're serious about a BBK, then go with one that is engineered for our car, like Stoptech. Or look at Brembo, AP Racing, STaSIS, Alcon,...

I tried to save some $$$ and wasn't satisfied. The price isn't that much less then the Stoptech 332mm BBK though. Just be sure it's what you want.

I say that the way I feel the power is increased, it isn't a real number, just my way to say that the difference is AWESOME.
My car has an extra weight of 320lb. because it is bulletproof, so the stock brakes were underpowered for the weight, the same happen whith my springs and shock's one of my springs give up,
in the case of the bilstein that are guaranteed for life, in bulletproof cars, they are not.
Because of the weight i decided to get this Brakes that are designed for a Heavy car, and in my case the stoptech's are not
designed to my car, since my a4 isn't a normal a4.
and in my special case i feel the new brakes make an awesome
work, my car has now shorter stop distances, and the pedal feel's so much better and i haven't change the brake fluid, since i'm waiting for another bottle of pentosin to change it.

    WhiteAvant

I promise you tomorrow i will take pic's to my car.
I took pic's of my car, and the install of the brakes to make a writeup when i installed them, but i didn't have time to do it, and
now i do have some time i don't find the pic's, i think i didn't passed them to my computer and somebody erased them from the memory stick!, and now i remember i also took more pic's of the install of the boosted tech CAI, but all that was on the same memory stick, i will try to look for them!

By the way today i took it to the service and now the engine is clean!!! so it will look nice in the pic's!

a4ncar's experience (as well as others including my own trouble simply trying to get a hold of them on the phone) turned me off and in the end, I went stoptech as well...couldn't be happier. And as said, you don't need a 6 pot caliper... you don't need large 355mm rotors either. Don Istook races a 400hp touring S4 with 332mm stoptechs and stock rears on the track...if that fulfills his stopping needs, I certainly can't imagine needing more on our A4s!

    astris Bulletproof...awesome! But why???

Mexico has several issues regarding to security, a lot of kidnapping's, robberies, murders etc. and an AUDI here
is like a meaning of rich guy, so having these kind of cars here is
dangerous, but that doesn't mean only the the rich people
is kidnapped even poor people have this problem, in a diferent
    level.
So mostly all the people tha can buy bulletproof cars and have bodyguars, invest a lot of money into their security.
One uncle of mine, my best friend, other friend whith his sister, and the dad of another friend that have being kidnapped, and i know a lot more persons that have been kidnapped, but you would't belive if i tell you all the people i know.
and another cousin, they tried to kidnap him 2 times, the first like 11 years ago, when the new mustang arrived to mexico, but he could escape, he sell his car 2 days later (by the way it was his first car, the one he used for a week) and he bought a jeep grand cherokee bulletproof, and some years later, somebody else
tried it again but the bulletproof jeep saved him this time, the car
had like 80 shots all over.
    So now you know why!
But i trust we can do something in this country, because it's a shame that for some bad guy's a contry get's such a bad image
when theres a lot of people that are hard workers and really nice
people. but mostly the insecurity is because of bad governors.

Where in Mexico do you live? Pretty far down? My friend is buying an Audi or a BMW and he lives half the time in Mexico, but pretty close to the U.S. border. He doesn't seem to be too worried, but he doesn't have any stories like yours... yet.

OK, that makes sense now. You live in the city with the largest population in the world. Not exactly sure where my friend's parents house is in Mexico (he lives in the U.S. so he goes back and forth), but I'm sure its in the Front B.C. area. So, nothing like Mexico City.

neoprufrok Whoa. Wow, that is nice - a bulletproof Audi! How did they do it?
They take all the part of the car out to install bulletproof steel and in some cases kevlar, later they change all the windows for
    bulletproof ones.
They also protect the gas tank, battery in some cases the engine etc.
I will post pics of how they make them, when i go to the factory.

Here are some pic's of my window.

The best thing of my car is that in the sunroof it has a bulletproof glass but it opens complete°!!!

    It depends on the LEVEL.
    Levels go from
3 to 6 and some 7. The 7 is awesome thick.

mine is a level 3. it holds to ak47.
a 7 can resist grenades and some kind of explosives

In my case the extra weight were 160 kilos like 300 lb
but in my dad's jeep GC level 6 were almost 500 kilos.

But i asked the guy that make my car to make it the most loghtweight he could, so we used lot's of kevlar, but the part's that are heavier are the windows. almost 25 kilos each.
so when it's thicker that's why the weight added is so much.
