My parents are lookin for a new winter car. I live in calgary where it snows alot.

My parents and i are use to driving pretty quick cars . N i think i read the triptronic audi a4 runs 0-60 in 9 sec. My mom doesnt know how to drive standard so we gotta get the trip.

Is it true they run 0-60 in 9 sec cause thats really slow.

Also a chipped a4 runs 0-60 at around 7.5 i dunno seems low for the power its making.

How much quicker is the 2001 compared to the 99

Snow in Calgary ? You want to see snow come up here in February. Anyhow, you should go drive an A4 1.8T and decide for yourself. My A4 is definitely not slow its quite fast and a pleasure to drive in summer and winter with the Quattro system.
The '01 has a little more power but I think its a little heavier too so not sure if its faster than a '99.
Have fun shopping for an A4, you are in for some fun driving and all you have to do is keep your maintenance up to date.

I've heard about 8 stock, (We're talking the 1.8T right?), and about 7 chipped. That's with a manual tranny. My car is by no means slow, in my opinion, and that's based on driving out other cars, an Allroad 2.7T, and a Porsche 911. The A4 will definately run with the Allroad, since it's a manual, chipped, and far lighter, although the big turbos in the Allroad pull far harder at about 50 mph.

Go drive one, you'll see. Actually, the A6 isn't a bad option either, neither is the Allroad, both have some pretty slick engine options, especially the 4.2 Liter V8. That'll haul for you.

I think it's like 7.9 Stock and slightly under 7 with a chip I personally can hit 6.5

tell your mom if she likes the car, how it drives, its handling, the interior, etc. and the speed is an issue, then chip the ECU and the tiptronic.

I didn't buy my 1.8t for speed, if I was looking for that I'da bought a wrx or camaro or whatever. You buy an Audi for all the other reasons, speed is a perk if you can afford it.

A6 isn't as sporty as the A4.... you should go and drive one or a bunch for that matter.
