Ha Ha.... I know exactly how you feel. My Stasis COs just arrived yesterday. I plan on doing the install myself, well with the help of my pops. Where did you get them from? Mine came with install directions. I think the only tool you need out of the norm would be a spring compressor. Oh yeah, I got the street sport (Koni) kit.

Got mine from Jeremy at Matrix too. Good guy and good deals. I think 240 with alignment sounds pretty good. You have quattro? I say do DIY and tell me how the install is.

The install on the B6 isn't particularly easy in the rear.
The easy way is lowering the subframe if you're equipped to handle it.
Or purchase the correct spring compressor which takes the spring out in 5 mins.

The hard way means removing the control arms and such. This way could take over 8 hrs if you're lucky.

Shoot me an email if you're still looking for an installer. I've done over a dozen B6's already.

I don't have the VAG spring compressor, but I do have a spring compressor. I have all the tools you can imagine, I have just never done a suspension install on a vehicle this sophisticated. Can I do this, around how long should it take?

FYI, the street sports are not stasis coilovers, they are Koni coilovers. Stasis just happens to be one of many who sell the street sport or KONI coilover system. They make no adjustments to that setup and specify that it is fully a Koni product and not their own. Sill a good product i'm sure. Just making the distinction. The track and motorsport coilovers are indeed valved by Stasis. $240 for install is a great price. That would even be a decent price not including the alignment. I agree with the above that the installs can be a bit tricky trying to work with it in your own garage. Enjoy. cheers! mike

You are correct, but Stasis does adjust the dampening on the shocks to their specs.

Right you are, but it is still a good kit, especially for the price.

    Hey Saturnine,
How long did it take you to do the install since I know you did it yourself? Did you use a spring compressor or did you go the other route? I hope I can do this on my own. How much is a good price for just alignment?

Not true. Stasis does absolutely NO valving on their street sport kits. This was a point of contention that prompted them to change their ad description to include "this is a KONI product" and "4 KONI sport dampers" instead of "4 stasis custom valved KONI dampers" as is in the track sport. Stasis does no modification to the street sport kit. Again, i'm not saying that dosnt make it a great product, just not a Stais tuned product. cheers! Mike

you are correct, stasis does not do any valving, they do however preset the rebound on the damper dyno prior to shipping them to you, which is why mine came with a complete additional set of instructions from stasis that says specifically to not make any adjustments on them b/c they have already done so

No, they don't adjust the valving on this kit, but they do some adjustment. They set the these two little pieces (I don't know what they are called) to their specs. Anyone can do this on their own, but Stasis sets it to what they believe is the optimum setting. I would post some pics but I don't have my cam. This is a very minor adjustment, but I would have no idea of what to set it to myself. If they did nothing to them I would have got them straight from Koni, since Stasis didn't have any in stock. They shipped them to Stasis, took them out of the box set whatever that piece is, and sent them to me. Either way, I got them for cheaper than Koni's anywhere.

Oops... Highpsi beat me to it and with a much better description.

That's pretty cool of them. That does take the guess work out of it for most folks like me who dont want to mess around adjusting them all the time to try and get them just right. I hope you're going to write a review after you log some miles. cheers! mike

Quite a few people have this kit (especially lately) and love it. Can't wait to get mine in. I will definitely post my reviews.

    bhvrdr,

I love the screen name. Didn't get it at first though.

Just a quick review with mine:
Love the ride quality, i've been in some pretty bone jarring cars and this one is perfect for street imo, much improved turn in and hold in sweeping curves, roll is still evident (esp. in rear)but not nearly as bad as before, car is much more confident and predictable when being thrown hard around a corner which i like to do to see if i can hang out the rear, however i can see the car definately not being extremely well suited for "slalomly" type turns

i like the ride better than the my stock sport which made my teeth rattle and body shiver, that susp. was good for an oem but just not compliable imo, these CO's still hit, so initial impact on bumps are still tough but are dampenned very well,
overall, much better ride and feel than stock sport, with amply improved handling for anything i'd throw at it on the street

This seems to be the norm when it comes to Koni tuning. They tune in a very smooth ride with good handling. Bilstein on the other hand can feel downright harsh to many, but has superior roll control. Good hearing your results. cheers! mike

Thanks for making the distinction HighPSI on the customization STaSIS does to the Street Sport CO's.

And thx for the kind words guys. If you need anything else, please let me know!
