Do they make 18" all season or winter tires? I'm debating keeping my rims on for the winter..... then I can sell my old rims.

Ouch, salt is pretty bad for the wheels, but....

That's about it, and neither are particularly good, but those were just in a quick search. For snow, you want a narrower tire any-how. I'm not sure of your current dimensions, but if your 16s are narrower, they could be a better option.

Well, I'd be careful with those wheels then, I didn't bother to see what you have, but anything painted, chromed, or any of that is succeptable. You'd need anodization to be safe.

I have 18" Toyo Proxes 4, which are all-season, they are amazing so far in the summer, i have yet to try them out in the snow yet.

Get some steelies and put some good winter tires on them.

Cheapy solution, but much better than rollin in salt with your good wheels on...

That, and winters are hard on the roads. You are asking for bent rims I think...

Honestly keep your 18s for summer use. Ideally for winter you want to run a 15 or 16" wheel with a snow tire, ie Blizzaks or M2/M3s. The taller sidewall and narrower patch will make driving the snow much better. Your 18s and even some 17s will float more.

you don't want an 8"+ wide tire if you're going to be driving in snow.... It will slide all over the place. I agree with the 15 or 16" steelies and a skinnier tire. Plus your rims will eventually get messed up if you keep changing the tires on them every 6 months assuming you get snows.

Thats really weird? Where in Jersey are you, S, N or Central? Are you sure they dont use a mix of cinders and salt? That is what they use around me.

    Snow tires!!!

It kinda stinks for the short time you have to run them...but it's super fun in the snow, actually makes you want to go for a drive and use that quattro. I'd roll up to VT all the time with my Toyo Observe (real snow tires), and although they were only ok on dry they ripped in the snow...and that was worth it alone... they were 205/60/15's...I'd do 16's if I had a choice and some blizzarks, or another hi-po snow tire...and the good thing is you can always sell a winter set up pretty quick....
Had the toyo FZ4's and I got stuck...never got stuck with the observes and I was way less cautious...

It's fun to go on beat runs in the snow!!!

If you think of it this way, by changing your set of wheels and tires by the season means longer tire life. I put all season tires on my stock wheels. Winter tires will definitely be better but they cost more and there are those kinda warm days in the winter. I had an accident in sowy/icy weather and it's not fun. Even if you're on winters and in control, there are alot of people out there that aren't. Just my 2 cents

Keep your swings on for the winter. I dont know what tires you have on them, but I have all seasons on my swings and thats what I use in the winter and they work fine in snow. For what you would get for the swings, its not worth the hassle of changing tires and the risk of damage to your 18's.
