i dont know much about this myself but i predict a barrage of posts saying that it will cost A LOT of money to get it done right and that it isn't worth doing.

Just go to maaco and you'll get one done for about 500 but you won't get any clear coat and a paint job I wouldn't want done if I had a 70's civic

To have a professional color change top to bottom should cost you no less then $6-10K to have done. I had a friend have a total color change on an accord and it was 8K to do. Unless you have some great hookups, it aint cheap for a real job.

If you notice there is a Classified section here on AZ, I would check their unless you really want to take on a serious project.

By the way I saw Maaco advertising paint jobs for $299...it got me excited for a minute, then I said no.

Color changes are not practicle. Silver shows the nice lines of an A4. Be happy, I wish mine was silver a lot of times.

honestly a good price for a color change would be around 4 thousand, evil your price for around 8000 would have to be a show car paint job, thats way to much to pay if your not showing your car. another thing you need to think about is on top of paying the 4000 or the 8000 evil sugested, the value of your car drops if the buyer knows its been repainted. just the way it works, rock the silver as it is one of the best colors made for the A4 which is why there are so many learking around. if your over silver your best bet is to part it out, sell it and get a black one. hope this helps. and evil im not talking ish , i just think its rediculous to pay 8000 for a paint job.

mike another problem with having a black car is you can bearly tell or see when the car has bodywork done to it. if you look at most modified black cars, you can hardly see whats done to it. which is why everytime you see an aftermarket company selling body kits they rarely ever use black as their display show car, you see many silvers, reds, yellows, and whatnot. hope this helps.
