FEELER FS! HKS SSQV BOV w/ FLANGE

im thinkin of selling my hks ssqv bov... wanna get another one hehehe...

i got it brand new for 200 and the flange was 35+15 shipped so thats like 50 bucks..

ive only had it on for a month.. so thats about 900 miles? hardly used at all..

oh yea if anyone was wondering what these sound like.. all i have to say is SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its definitely a head turner.. works especially for the hotties that u see walkin down the street

no they still turn! love how they turn.. but im starting to dig the BUS sound (air brake PSHH) more than the high pitched sound. i think i want the gfb stealth hybrid

it will probably sound but not as loud im gonna guess. either way this thing sounded SICK. so loud. definately a head turner

You know you can change the incerts on that BOV to change the sound from a high pitched to a "bus sound", right?

oh god..if u ran recirculation kit.. the bov would still be loud but slightly muffled because the air gets channeled into another pipe

John is right... this is what you need:

The purple one emits a "chhooooo" sound, almost like a stock DV w/ open intake. The gold one makes the "psssssttt" sound (like the bus). :)

I used to love the sound of the SSBOV, until Fast & Furious bastardized the "blow off valve" since. :(

I have a TurboXS H-RFL valve with the 1.8t Flange kit that I've had on for about 6 months. It makes the "woosh" type of BOV sound, and probably the loudest one at that. I have been wanting to swap for a SSQ type for a while, I kind of dig the high pitched squeel of them.

You mean the Greddy Type-Shit? :) In reality, the HKS bov has the BEST design compared to other bov/bpv's. It is one of the few "pull type" valves, that will only tighten up when you apply more pressure. Picture like a drain plug in your bath tub, the more water you put in, the tighter that plug will become. The only way to let the water out is by physically "PULLING" the plug, the HKS bov works on the same concept. The Greddy Type S and R are "push type" valves, meaning, the cylinder is kept closed by the vacuum line under boost, however, when not adjusted properly, the actual charge air (boost) will be able to push the cylinder open. This is why people sometimes change the springs out, but personally, it's just a bitch. Sounds pretty good (swoosh sound), but that's about it... invest your money in some performance mods (and NO BOV's do not help performance, only helps to maintain and sustain it).

Don't get a Greddy Type S. Not for a Audi...its too high pressure. The Type S can't handle a lot of pressure.

Actually I would run a BOV only if you have a recirculation kit.

i looked everywhere for the flange and the cheapest i found it was at atpturbo. it was 35 with 15 shipping.. kinda lame if u ask me.. 15 dollars to ship sucha puny thing
