    what plugs should i buy

    What type of sprak plugs should i buy for a chipped 1.8T and what should they be gapped at?

    NGK BK6RE or BKR6E i forget the ordering of the letter but its something along the line of those.... you can gap anywhere between .28-.32 i usually just go right for .30 though.

    how much boost are you running by the way? anything over 1 bar I might jump up to a BK7...

    I know the NGK are oem and recommended, but why not Bosch?

    NGK BKR6E are a one of the best options. You get get them at www.sparkplugs.com part number 6262. Gap like DVS said above.

    why pay a premium price for something that is no better than the alternative... just because NGK is japanese? they still make a great product.

    what was OEM in your and did you buy it brand new? every A4 i have ever seen came with the PFR6Q-11 (or something like that)

    Actually, I'm not 100% positive on this, but I thought the OEM for the A4 up to '99 was Bosch F7LTCR plugs. Then I thought that in '99.5 they switched to the 3 prong platinums, which are the NGK PFR6Q.

    Correct.

    Bosch does make a single ground plug like the BKR6E and BKR7E but, they are very hard to find at most autopart stores. Also, like DVS18t mentioned, the price per plug is not worth it when the NGKs are about $2 ea.

    ah I see, i guess that would make sense being that i have never worked on an A4 older than a 99.5
