    Brakes squeel..

I replaced my rotors\pad with Zimmerman X-drilled and Pagid fronts, mintex rears....
I broke them in from what I read on the forums, slow braking from 40, 50, 60..etc..

During the first week the brakes seem to be doing their job....

a few weeks passed, and now sometimes when I brake, there's squeeling...
only when slowing down at low speeds, if step harder on the pedal...no squeel...

Should I just put more anti-squeel on the back of the pads?
    Or what should I do?

Just break em in ( no pun intended) for awhile longer...There really isn't anything wrong if they squeel every now and then

I also have Zimmerman X-Drilled and Mintex pads. They do not stop squealing after break-in. I had my set on for almost a year and they always squealed.

I went to an auto parts store and bought some very generic anti-squeal spray and they have not made a single sound in over a month.

If you are getting OEM, i would not recommend getting any x drilled they are going to lose you braking power (holes in rotor=loss of surface area on rotors=takes longer to brake the car to a stop). If you are going for anything OEM sized, i would say stick with slotted or regular. Why pay more for xdrilled when you are losing braking power. But on the other hand, if you are running you car on a track all the time then i would say stick with the x drilled, but other than that just go cheap

I put some anti-squeel when i installed them...
should I just add more? It wasn't a spray...it was more of a paste

Actually you don't want X-drilled for track use, they will warp easily and can crack. If you want imporved braking over plain rotors then go with slotted since they scrape some of the deposits fo the pad. But honestly a solid rotor with a good set of track (or street pads, if not tracking) will be more than sufficient for most people. Drilled are all about show, but they aren't as efficient as plain/slotted and eat pads for lunch.

I've had my current brake setup for a little over a year.

(ECS Slotted drilled rotors, with mintex pads) they have always squealed. I just deal with it anymore...

They have some brake pad grease you can put on the back of the pads to cut down on the squealing, some people say it works, some don't...

My problem now is, they "squeak" all the time (even when I am not braking...) Don't know what that is all about

My Mintex started out fine, then sqealed after a few hundred miles, and then after few hundred more it went away. Now they're fine, no noise.
