Damn, that would have SUCKED! On a similar note - I changed my fuel filter on Friday. Very easy to do w/ the right tools. Anyway, I had put it back in and started the car. OH CRAP! My fuel line now has a nice pinhole in it, right at the banjo fitting. Needless to say, I spent the next 8 hours attempting to get it fixed. The part is on order (only $25 from the dealer, no less) and I'm mobile again. I finally got it to stop leaking by lutting a piece of rubber hose around it and putting two 'conventional' hose clamps on it. Luckily, it hasn't leaked a bit. Obviously, I'll swap out the line as soon as it comes in, but I am so happy it's not leaking. I am 99% sure it wasn't leaking before, but somehow it appears that I 'aggrevated' the line. I am also pretty sure I didn't 'nick' it. Not sure what happened. Also, from the way it looks, the filter was the original, after 102K miles... You could say it was a little clogged... I should gain at least 1 mpg or two from this one...
Glad to hear you didn't have to start tearing into Hass! Too bad I can't say that. It looks like I *may* have to drop the tank, if I can't get to the top of the tank from inside the hatch. I'm dreading it, and am avoiding looking until the fuel line comes in....
