Double Din Stereo

Anyone here know if the 2003 A6 and A4 share the same Double Din stereo? Do they both have the same measurements?

Nope, they don't. I learned that the hard way and wasted 50 bones :(

I was just on AudiUsa.com and the pictures of the A4 and A6 Double din look the same. I'm trying to look for an aftermarket install kit. So if they are the same dimensions, size, then it will work because they only have the A6 kit out.

i have the A6 kit & its too big. metra has a kit for the a4

They have a Metra kit that's out for 02+ A4's... I just bought mine

I assume the Metra kit is for the use of a single din stereo in place of the double din?

roger that... i got mine at autotoys.com and altered it to fit my kenwood double din deck

Hyperspeed.....I just ordered the Autotoys.com Double Din A4 2003 kit. Any modifications needed or does it fit perfectly?

for single din head units fitment is perfect. for double din head units u will need to trim off the piece that separates the upper din from the lower din. very simple dremel job.

if u bought it already they u know what i mean about the middle piece.

if u mean fitment as in the piece fitting in the OEM position id have to say fitment is definitely great. no modifications necessary.. just remember to slide it back all the way till the clips click onto the slots
