Let you know that when I moved from MN to TX I made a speed run from Minneapolis to Dallas. Think I made it in about 11 hours. These cars have no problem cruising at very high speeds.
But I'll be honest - in hindsight I will never try that again. Now that I am starting to get into autocross, I have a whole new respect for speed. Don't get me wrong - I'm all for cracking her open in controlled conditions for short periods of time. But when you are making a trip over that much distance, there is no way for you to know what you are running up on.
Throw in other stupid drivers, misc road conditions, debre, etc., and speed traps, you are really asking for something to happen. Are your tires Z rated? Better be for this. Do you have upgraded brakes? People assume that you are driving a normal speed and will pull out right in front of you. Stock brakes at 110 plus are for s***.
Have you tought about what happens if you cut a tire at 100+? Believe me when I say that you will really find out what these cars are made out of because you will be able to look at all of the pieces.
I've made the long distance run - it was fun as hell - and now that i have become more knowledgable in motor sports I would never do it again. Just keep in mind the chances that you are taking and be willing to accept them.
