1. Are you developing your own chip? Planning on starting a company, or are you looking to get a specific tune just for your car? What tools are you using to do this, just out of curiousity?
2. Why would you do a 2.5" crush bent exhaust? Why not just go 3"?
3. AEM intake? They make an intake for our cars...(1.8T Audi A4?)
4. 10whp out of an intake, exhaust, DV, and new software seems like 400+ dollars on a minimal gain. Sure I expect a bit more after you lean out a bit but that's not that promising IMO.
On second glance though, in the top chart you have 002 and 007 listed as two runs, and you're saying the 002 is stock with GIAC chip. 194hp. Then you have an exhaust, intake, cut up wheel liner, spark plugs which aren't good for a FI setup, and a DV...but less power? How's that work?
5. Why not try to make some custom tuning for a car with an aftermarket turbocharger...such as a T-28 or a GT28RS? There'd probably be more demand for a chip (this is assuming youre trying to market this) with a aftermarket turbo then a chip with stock turbo when there already is GIAC and APR with awesome software out already. Maybe I am missing something here.
Again not trying to be an asshole just wanting to learn and understand this better.
1) Yes this a new chip that is in development by my company DTT.
2) We will be developing softwear for a aftermarket IHI turbo which is the key to the Jabbsport kit. (sorry only for transverse 1.8T...... For now)
3)The equipment used to make the POTENSA chip are confidential.
4)A 3 inch for a KO3 sport will will make you loose maore then what you would gain with a 2.5 which is the exhaust size that is reccomended by jabbsport for the STAGE III which is only for the transverse mounted 1.8T(
www.jabbasport.com)
5) As for as i know only EVO and other vendors make intakes for your car, I personally think that a moded airbox with a ram air system will yeild more HP then a CAI. No it can't be tested on a Dyno since the moving air that becomes pressunized in the airbox when you are trvelling high speeds and can't be simulated by the best dyno fan.
6) The Dyons comparing Stock vs POTENSA vs GIAC were all done with the same mods, but @ diffrenet times. It is only a comparison of softwear not a badly set up scheme to fool you guys
7) I know my exhaust is not the best component to develop softwear with but not everyone will run a exhaust when they purchase a chip so it somewhat gives the best of both worlds.
8) Yes we will be developing softwear for a aftermarket Jabbsport Stage III which uses a IHI Turbocharger.
I hoipe I was able to answer your questions to the fullest extent, please Post / PM / email me if you have anyother questions.
