My German coworker just told me his friend works at Audi in Inglostadt

No lie. He's like, "you have an Audi? My friend works for Audi at an assembly plant in Bavaria..."

and I'm like "at Inglostadt?!"

and he's liek "yes, in Ingolstadt."

I was like

I am SO going to inquire about obtaining a euro-spec Audi from this guy now. He was telling me about the programs that they have there and how as an employee, he gets discounts on Audis and that they have this program called "Jahreswagen" or "year car" where you get a certain car for a year and at the end of that year you can upgrade or something for relatively cheap. I'm not sure about all the details cuz he didn't say much. His English isn't THAT good either and I wasn't going to ask him to explain in German since we were with like 4 other people, none of whom spoke German...figured it'd be sorta rude


Then tuning came up. Turns out his girlfriend in Germany has a Abt-tuned Golf. Yeah. Abt suspension and engine tuning and stuff. Dunno if it's fully done, but he did mention that she's on Abt sport suspension. I was like "I've got Abt springs on MY CAR!!" and mentioned that my engine had Abt-tuning, too. Although TECHNICALLY, it's only the ECU, and at that I've got the AMS/Abt thing, but still, heh. We talked a bit about the Abt TT's running in the DTM and also abotu other tuners, like Oettinger, AMG and Brabus.

oh yeah, he has a friend working for Porsche in Stuttgart, too. AND he's been to the Phaeton assembly plant in Dresden and taken the tour of it and stuff.

most car manufacturers have that lease program you pay the lease rate and they pay for all other things and you can turn it in after a certain number of miles...kinda cool...my friend at toyota they can literally drive to their car lot, park their toyota and pick any other toyota for the weekend etc. kinda cool if you need to go boarding or whatever you can just get a free car for the weekend
