Anyone know how to put the car into Service Mode?

I have to change my timing belt soon and wanted to put the car into service mode instead of taking the whole front end apart because I heard it's a whole lot easier. Is there a write-up out there that says how to do this? TIA.

It's when you slide your front end forward so that you can gain accessability to all of your belts without having to take everything apart. I heard it makes it a lot easier, but after looking at the directions for removing the AC condensor and the radiator, it doesn't look TOO hard.

this is how most actual Audi mechanics do the TB job, and some of them can finish the whole thing in like 2.5 hrs

"Service Position" It involves sliding the lock carrier forward a few inches, but i was under the impression it took some special tools. I just did my timing belt and took the whole front end off. I looked and didnt really see how you could slide it all forward, of course i didnt really have any idea what i was doing.
