My bro runs the 712's and is content with them. I prefer my MX's much much better though. His seem to break loose easy.

If you're looking for a good looking tire that will last a while, the 712 is a good bet. You may encounter road noise after they get some miles on them though. I only had mine for 7K miles, and they were fine. (they were slashed, and I had to get new tires - decided to try the Yoko ES100s)

They may not be the best performing tire, but for all weather driving, you'll be hard pressed to find a cheaper, decent tire.

I just got the falken for my girl. She loves them and they have had very good reviews. for some reason I have something against Kuhmos (Kumhos (cum hoes). I've seen them rip apart under harsh circumstanses. I hear that the Victoracers are good but all the othes need improvements imo. if I were you I would deffinently go with Toyos then the Falken's, then the Yoks.

    Thumbs up

FALKENS HANDS DOWN!!! I run that exact tire with my 18" flik wasps. Beautiful tire. Not noisy, and handles great in rain. Haven't driven it in snow yet. I had Kuhmos and they were decent for the price I payed for them, but I wouldn't recommend them. Especially if you're on a lowered supension, the Falkens give you a comfortable ride.

of course now that you guys chimed in I already went with the Kuhmos. Oh well. I got them from Tirerack. Would have gotten the Falkens if Tirerack carried them but they dont. Well maybe next time. Thanks for the help

    Kumho, Kumho, Kumho!

I have been very impressed with all Kumho's I've driven. I used to be a Porsche guy -- I had 712's on my 968 and they exceeded all expectations, wet and dry.

I also had Falkens (don't remember the type but "Ziex" or something rings a bell) on a 944 Turbo. They were as slippery as oil. Hated them.

Never tried Toyo's, I like most Yokohamas, but they tend to wear more quickly, IMHO.

    YMMV, Good Luck

I checked ebay a whole lot and with shipping included they would be no less than Tirerack. Also I would be buying from someone I know isn't going to jerk me around.

I did not have my mind made up actually. Thanks anyways!

SF944 - Thanks for the encouraging words. Oscar from Tirerack said that these were better than the Falkens. We'll see!

I have had the Falken ST-115s for about 8K miles already...and love em. They are super quiet & have good tread life.

i've had 2 sets of the 712s and am going to try something different next time. After first rotation they get noisy - very quiet before that though. They seem to be fairly sticky, but I broke loose one time in a bad way with my 712s - no warning, just lost it completely and understeered right off the road. I'm not blaming the tire completely, I think it was a combination of tire, road conditions and driver stupidity...

I'm looking at either Bridgestone RE750s or Falken Azenis for my next set.
