    I'd leave them be. Granted, it would look great either way. I think it's a personal preference.

    With the Oettinger grill, I'd probably say no...

    Maybe gunmetel as Evil suggested...

    But black rings do look good...as I should know

    I'd leave 'em just the way they are... the rings should stand out proud! no need to hide them

    Do not paint them !
    The rings in chrome is a nice contrast to the black grill.

    I knew you would show me a pic of blacked out rings Missed your car, wish i got a chance to check it out b4 u sold it and headed back. btw, the B5 in PDX or else where?

    Thanks man , no idea where is car is right now...person that bought my car was in Reno, he kept it for six months then parted it out and sold the car...

    on your grill id leave them as is. Though I do like the look of both as mine are painted black on my RS4 grill.

    I consulted the Design Godess (my wife) who does some interior design on the side and other great stuff... she said since your wheels are Silver stay Silver with the rings. If you go with dark wheels (black) then go subdued and paint it black as well.

    Here in Ireland for another year or two (girlfriend is moving over here)and then returning to the PNW...Passat will stay in Ireland, I'll be buying myself a nice Avant when I return ...
