Comparo with 530i, E320 and A6 3.2 FSI in July 2004 Automobile Magazine

Got a chance to check this magazine out lately and it had a comparison between the three German mid-size luxury rides - the 530i, the E320, and the new A6 3.2 FSI. The sportiest vote went to the 5, which is no surprise, but the A6 won out as best overall. They said good things about it's interior and it's overall characteristics. The A6's controversial upright aka "fish-mouth" grille was referred to as "bold" while the styling of the 530i, both inside and out, was all but outright mocked. The quality of the materials in the BMW was also questioned. The overall design of the Mercedes-Benz was described as "traditional but elegant" or some such, which is definitely an apt description.

Check it out if you're interested. They A6 they picked was this interesting teal color (don't know the official name) and only had 16" wheels but it still looked pretty nice, especially from the profile shots. TOTALLY can't wait to see these on the roads.

oh yeah, this issue ALSO has a nice long article on the new Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, so more incentive to go check it out

Man I hate that name. Sounds too much like one of my cousin's last names, and not at all sexy or powerful like it should be. Modena and even Enzo are hot names, but Scaglietti?

    Hey, yo, Scaglietti!

Eh, I'm not feeling it overall anyway. I feel meh about it. Well, as meh as I can feel about a freakin Ferrari, of course. It must be said, however, that it ain't no 575 Maranello, though...

Ah, yes, Maranello. Another nice sounding Italian name.

At any rate, I need to pick up this issue of Automobile Mag.
