    saving pics off the net. Windows experts....

    For some reason when i go to right click save as a picture off the net, i can only save it as a BMP. Anyone know what the deal is?

    That happens with some pics. Usually, you can just look at the source code and get the direct link.

    Just use the View drop down menu, and the scan the source code.

    The pics i've been trying to save are from the direct image link. (IE. www.audizine.com/image.jpg) will only save as .bmp when i try to save as. Could it be my laptop is a POS?

    you dont have a drop down to save the file as .jpg (where is says Save as type:)?
    another could be is the pics are indeed a bmp and not a jpg

    I do have the drop down, but it only has bmp if the image is a JPG. If the image is a gif, like needforspd's sig it allows me to save as a gif, but never a jpg

    Some pics will do that. Not sure why. I notice that whenever I do Yahoo searches for images. It usually only lets me save as bmp's. But, if you save them to your PC, then you can open them in MS Paint, and choose "save as" and put them into either jpg or gif format.

    Your Internet Explorer cache is probably full. Go to Tools -> Options. In the General tab, select the "Delete Files" button in the Temporary Internet Files area.
