i just had it installed and i will be picking it up today and i read something that said that when i first start up my car i need to let it sit and adapt/read the new software.....is this true and if so how long will i need...

Oh and no-1 really ever answered this when i asked a few days ago but will 91 be ok or should i get oct. boosters and add those every fill up?

You don't need octane boosters man, that would be retarded if you had to do that at every fill up =P

Some people say that when they get new chips/software, they'll start up their car and while at idle, their RPMs kinda jump up and down. I guess when it settles, you'll know...

But I've never seen this. Someone with a K04 will chime in soon to answer ya

I am pretty sure this is for the throttle body alignment (TBA). It's been a while since I chipped my A4 (two and a half years now) so I really can't remember...

throttle body adaptation is what its called and what happens is the ecu makes adjustments to the butterfly inside the throttlebody so that it can more accurately judge throttle percentage. if you dont do it WOT might actually be 75% throttle. iirc you are supposed to do everytime you reset your ecu (take the battery cable off)

just wait like 3 mins, it shouldn't even take that long, most tuners will do it before they let you drive it off, Anthony at greedspeed did it, test drove it and then handed me the keys

    How to do a TBA:

    1) Turn key to ACC position.
    2) Wait 1 minute.
    3) Start car. Let idle for 3 minutes. Do NOT touch gas pedal during the process.

listen for pinging w/ 91 on the GIAC k04 software. AudiJuice on AW had that problem with his k04. The software was designed with 93 octane in mind. be careful.

no you would be better off to save the money and get a fmic as soon as possible.... though i wouldnt recommend boosting hard when its really hot outside.

well by you saying that you wanna stock up on octane boosters i would assume it would be to reduce the possibility of detonation by cooling your combustion temps. you would be better off reducing your combustion temperatures by cooling your intake air, not to mention you would reduce the issue of heat soak and help to prolong the life of your new turbo....

if you get that one make sure that you have the Rs4 bumper as the most of the core will sit up inside the bumper... imho the greddy should look like this:

you could also run an S4 bumper as well if you look in the classifieds there are a bunch of people selling those which would be a much cheaper option if you found one that was already painted... i have specific pictures for everything that you need to do to install it like i did.

only problem with that is SPP is in production limbo as they are coming out with a new version (or something like that) either way they are not producing new FMIC's. from what i have heard the newer higher quality units will cost more. dont quote me on that last part though.
