Just bring it in. If your car is still under warranty, they should replace it.

Hahah im with VTEC on that one. If you got an S4, you should be out slapping some Kappa's in or at least some Q series MB Quarts. ;-) Haha, yeah, just take it back if its under warranty.

But really, the stock sound system is ass. Go get some real mids and highs.

Well in my opinion, the MB Quart Q series sound effing' great. Awesome bass, good mid bass and all the highs you could ever want. They make a custom plate to fit the 5" in the doors. When your replacing the rear deck's, have them custom fit a set of 6.5" Q series in the back with an arched fiberglass tweeter pod so it's projecting the highs toward the font, making them usefull for you the driver, but keep the 6.5" mounted almost flush. That way you can get good acoustics with it bouncing off your back window.

With amps, i have always been very partial to the Rockford Fosgate Power series. Especially for sub amps. Their mono amps are very solid and can be drivin' extremely hard with no shut off(provided you upgrade the altenator). Ther MESA technology is really really good. However, for your highs, I would go with maybe an Eclipse Premium 4 channel running your rear deck and rear doors. Then get another eclipse two channel for your fronts. You may want to look into the new Kicker digital amps, i've heard good things about them.

With your head unit, Eclipse makes a very solid screen unit. I've heard decent things about the alpine units as well. You might want to check with the B6 guys, I think Hyperspeed has a really nice HU.

For your subs. Depending on how much bass you want. Im assuming you have some class and want enough to be heard, but not to be obnoxious. I say fiberglass a Eclipse Titanium 12" into the side of your trunk. 12" is going to give you a good hz range, but still stay really tight for rock music. Of course, if you want to be really loud, just do two 10's or 12's. That will beat your ass. Make sure, if you go with two subs; You get a mono amp for each of them. Two channel subs amps just aren't going to cut it when your running hi wattage like the titaniums. Do not get a cap, waste of your money. Upgrade your alternator or you'll find yourself looking for a jump often. You also might want to get a second battery to run your stereo gear off of. Just mount it in your trunk. Your local audio shop can do that for you.

Dynamat your trunk, deck, and doors(all four). If you really want good SQ on the inside, I recommend taking out your headliner and floor carpet and laying dynomat through the whole car. It's going to be dead solid, dead quiet and the acoustics will be amazing. And it's light as hell, so you won't gain much poundage. From that anyways. You can expect your stereo gear to add close to 250-300 lbs depending on what you do.

    There's my .2.

Oh, the W7's from JL Audi might be some subs to check out. They look dank.

And if you do one thing right, please please please get some hi quality speaker/grounding wire. That's the last thing you want to cheap out on. You'll kill yourself later when you hear tons of white noise and pops.

Not really. I have the BOSE system, so they are OK speakers, I know nothing great. With the glue they sound as good as new.

For a poor 16 year old it was either $200+ for speakers that I probably wouldn't notice too much of a difference or FREE repairing which sounds perfectly fine to me.

    To each his own.

Damn. 16 and having an S4. That'd be nice :)

And your right, there wouldn't be any differnce in quality between your BOSE speakers and a $200 set of speakers. You can't even get a decent set of coaxis with 200$. The Q series start out at a little over a grand for the 4". MB Quarts bottom line Discuss series even sound better than stock imo. Those are a good price. But if you want to be most cost effective, I say go with the Referance series. Good set of seperates. 5" are around $499 plus install.

If you have the money there are plenty of very good speakers out there. CDT, Focal, Rainbow, Morel, Dynaudio, all kick major ass. MB quart is also good if you like the sound of aluminum dome tweeters(quart actualy has titanium, but they both are too harsh for me). the older line of DEI studio componets sound very good and can be had for cheap (check out www.mmxpress.com) also try www.thezeb.com and www.sounddomain.com I have A JL 8w7 in my talon running off a Pheniox gold Ti amp (the 400.2) one of the best sub/amp combos out there(the jl amps are nice, but to expensive at the retail level, and do not come with a factory warnty over the net). Fosgates older power line(around 2000) was total kick ass, but its new stuff is not so hot.

Quite sorry. 17 and having an S4, that'd be nice :).

I'm with Ippkiss. The older 2000 models of the Rockford Power series were something to deal with, but the newer shit isn't so hot. And yes, the titanium and aluminum are bright. All in preferance. Check out Diamon Audio's high end seperates, they were really nice but not bright enough for me. Probly would suit the average listner quite well.

When I was getting my W7 I was asking about the diamond Hex 3ways and the guy there just happend to have them in his Caddy. They sound very, verry good. By far the best speakers I have ever actualy heard in a car. This was with the metal dome tweeters, and I know they also have an option for silk dome. the down side was they wanted 875$ for the 3 way's and that was with my "hook up." for over 900$ with tax there are better setups out there.

Wow. That's a pricey set of Diamond's. But if their the best sounding speaker you've heard in a car, than it might just be worth it...

I'm replacing all 8 speakers in my s4, im 18 btw.

I've got infinity kappa perfect components i front, 5.25"
    6.5" Coaxials in rear doors
I took out factory subs in rear deck and am letting the alpine 12" type s port through the rear deck. Sub si fiberglassed into right side of the trunk, with xbox mounted under rear deck playing through alpine headrests.

Infinity has some awesome amps out. There 4 channel is 115 watts by 4 at 4 ohm. Very strong for your everyday amp you cna pick up at Circuit City.

Have you put the Kappa's in yet S4speed? If so, how do they sound in the car?

Not to diss you or anything, but word of advice to others, don't buy car audio from Circuit City or any other chain like that. If your serious about car audio, shop around to the actual shops that specialize in car audio. They will have the best help, and better components.

Again, this wasn't meant to diss you S4speed. But C-C is not the place for a person thats going to spend thousands on his system.

I used to work at circuit city. I got 65% off retail for all car audio. The ma and pa shops take yout o the house on stuff. Someone buy my car with video system in rear. It's in the for sale section.
