    Book Recommendations Needed

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Yes, this is prolly the gayest thread evar and I will get ripped a new one...

But I'm going on vacation and I need some books to read.

What are some good books on survival in the wilderness from nothing, human tendencies (such as if you look left your lying, if you look right your remembering when saying something) and human pressure points. Also, what are some sweet books written on the future of the military and like WW3... I dunno, maybe I'm far fetched or crazy... btu this is what I wanna read about.

Also, is Sun Tsu's Art of War a good book?

hey enjoi, I'm positive that you'd love Michael Moores book "Dude Where's My Country." I'm sure you'll love it, your sig is telling me this.

I haven't read fast food nation... I like dirty mexican food too much .

Why read about WW3 when you can capture a piece of history with WW2 or WW1? I recommend Band Of Brothers and All Quiet On The Western Front.

I don't read too many books, but "monster : cody scott" was pretty interesting. it's this crazy crip dude's life story. I read it on the way home from cleveland once on a plane.

the first half was crazy the second half got kinda political.
Big truck, a station wagon and a Mammoth place. Nothing too fancy.

I've read Band of Brothers, All Quiet on the Western Front, and Fast Food Nation. All are very good books...

In terms of Michael Moore, well... he's fat and we'll leave it at that

I'll try some of them books you guys suggested, like the one about the crip or interegation and survival, etc.

I have two books on pressure points, etc.

One is "Nerve Centers and Pressure Points: For Karate, Jujitsu & Atemi-waza" by Bruce Tegner (ISBN: 0874070295)

Another is "Small-circle Jujitsu" by Wally Jay (ISBN: 0897501225)

Both are pretty decent, have lots of pictures, etc. The Art of War is also an excellent book, read that too if you get a chance.

monster (the crip one) is crazy. the dude's real life story puts what they do in movies to shame. I'd send you mine, but someone stole it along the way.

    enjoiweb -

Again, not what you may have requested, but I strongly recommend you read "The Enemy Within", by Michael Savage. While he's somewhat of an extremist as far as right-wingers, he certainly will open your eyes and makes a lot of common sense.

Also, politics aside, if anyone wants to read a non-fiction, yet entertaining scandalous book about big time financial/investing craziness, then read: "When Genius Failed". It's about the biggest hedge fund ever that completely blew up. All a true story, and got very little publicity, although it almost crumbled the world economy.

Another great, non-fiction work: "Bringing Down the House" about a team of MIT kids that figured out a way to scam casinos. These kids are wicked smart.

"Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
