    detailing tomorrow

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
going to be a nice day tomorrow (and I have off from work), so I'll be detailing my car...

has anyone used 3M imperial hand glaze? I heard its good to polish between the clay bar and wax steps of the process...if so, I'll pick some up before I start. Also, any tips on polishing?

    Thanks...

Yep, 3M's IHG is great stuff!!! I also like 3M's Finish Restorer to get rid of fine scratches.

is there any trick to doing it? since polish is abrasive, I would guess if I rubbed it too hard or something it would screw up the clearcoat or whatever...I'm just worried about that . Like I said, if anyone has some tips on USING polish (the other thread was a good overview, but not very specific on the polishing), I'd love to know...gonna start in a few hours...

I'm just paying someone to do it for me cuz I'm lazy. My body shop sent me to this guy whos gonna debadge the trunk, wash, wax, buff, steam the motor, and shampoo and clean the interior for around $60. Im getting hooked up though cuz my brother knows the guy. I just bought my car on friday and there are a few scratches I want to see if he can take care of. I gotta wait till monday though.

I'd do a small test spot somewhere. See how effective it is, how much effort it takes. I think it would be hard to burn thru by hand.
