You have to remove the back seat the the whole rear deck to get to the speakers.

You dont need to remove the seats. Fold them down though. Get in trunk, unhook rear brake light, Pry the rear cover off, pull up, pull forward. Unscrew speakers. Done.

Oyeah, watch out for the rear brake light cover. Mines broke taking it off so many times, now it rattles. :/

    Exactly.
Undo the plug going into the rear eye level brake light.
Pop the covers off the hooks along the back and unscrew the bolts.
Then pull the rear decklid forward to reveal the speakers.

It actually doesn't take that long. First time it may, but once you have it figured out it is so easy.

Which bolts are you talking about?

Oh and since my other thread got jacked, which speakers should I get to replace these rear ones? I dont want to dump a lot of loot into this because audio isnt all that important to me. Thanks.

You'll see three hooks along the top of the desk for car seats. Pop the plastic covers off these and they are held in by a large screw.

    Live2Ski-

I had the same problem/question about replacements so I did a search on Crutchfield, BestBuy, and Circuit City. All three give you speaker/fitment guides, ratings, and info. 6.5" speakers will fit. Prices range from $140 down to around $30. I didn't care for their speaker options but I'll probably go with the mid-priced Sony's($60-$80range), Infinity's or Polks ($90). They're all pretty good. Stick with something around 2-50 watts RMS, not peak. That should do fine in our system.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

BTW, I broke my speaker cover in the attempt to access the speaker. If anyone has a spare cover please let me know. thanks

You have to deal with the dumb seatbelt guides, but other than that removing the inner rear deck is not a tough job at all. I have done it multiple times.

I'm a fan of Sony, but not Sony speakers. Infinity over Sony anyday.

I hear that. Sony Spkrs are very average. Nice TV's though.

I'm going with the Polks. Had them in my last vehicle and was very impressed. It's worth spending a few more $$ to get a decent sounding speaker. I've learned my lesson over the years.

Thks for the info. I'll be doing the install tonight.
