so i've got the OEM DV out but, like the AWE directions said might occur, the nipple broke off in the boost hose. i'm havin a lot of difficulty gettin out and the more i pull on it, the more it basically disintegrates. any tips or tricks to gettin this piece out? the AWE directions just say do yur best, however it has become apparent that might best just isn't good enough to get that damn nipple out, tho everytime i say the word i giggle, so at least that's givin me some entertainment

I think I recall mentioning on your previous post to make sure you have some extra vac hose on hand before the install .

I would definitely replace the entire line. You don't want to risk those little debris getting into your system. Vac hose is cheap, get it any autoparts store. You want the 5/32 diamter hose, which is the same as the 3.5mm.

I agree with DDQ and DVS18t. cut the end off and connect it up, drive to the parts store get the new vac line and replace that line...while you are at it you should just get enough vac line to replace all the vac lines.

yea buy the hose and always have some in reserve. they are really not that expensive. i myself bought new hose and tie the DV's nipple with the zip-tie. so everytime i want to take it off, snap and pull it out (sounds sexual lol).

hehe, ok, so i just cut it off right above the crimp clamp, then reattached everything, all was goin well during the test drive. i take the car out to go out for the ngith and halfway down my road, WOOOSSSHHH!!!. yea, so the vac line shot off the DV and i gotta reattach it. i guess i might as well replace the whole line now. gotta do it tomorrow. it was a bitch to get home, had to keep the revs up even when i slowed down, that was tricky. but i don't think any damage was done

It runs up to the front of the intake manifold. Just trace the one that's there and follow it.

You need to clamp those vac lines. There's pressure in there, they can blow off if you don't clamp them. You could use zip ties, but I'd just get some good clamps and do it right. You can order them from ECS. You want the smallest ones they have.

ok, so it turns out it wasn't the boost line. it was the inlet pipe. took me 2 more tries to get it to stay. test drove it this mronign after fixing it, got back, put it on the ramps and the hose was almost off again, so i took it outta the pipe, wiped off any lubricant that may have been left, then reattached it, same thing. finally, i used my ratchet set and torqued the thing down REALLY hard and now it stays fine. i threw the ratchet and the ramps in my trunk tongiht just in case that shit came off, but it stayed just fine. so basiclly i'm a dumbass and it took me like 3 hours in total wut should have taken 45 minutes. that damn crimp clamp was such a bitch to get off...fcuckin germans

So are you saying you reused the crimp clamp? If so, that's not a good idea, they're not made for that. You want to get the screw clamps. It would be very tough to get a good seal by reusing a crimp clamp.

But back to the inital issue... so you broke off the plastic on the inlet of the BPV? That's a pretty big piece of plastic! And I can see how it would be tough to replace, and get the pieces out. Hopefully you did get all the pieces out of there, since you don't want those getting into your turbo.

no he is talking about the little vacuum nipple at the top of the bpv.

and yes the crimp clamp is a very bad idea i would highly suggest getting some hose clamps and using those they are like 2 bucks for a set of four at your local hardware store....

hmmm.... I guess I'm confused. At first I too thought he was talking about the nipple, but then he said this:

"ok, so it turns out it wasn't the boost line. it was the inlet pipe."

nooo...i didn't reuse the crimp clamp. i'm not retarded. i just said that removing it was a PITA. and i did not break the plastic on the inlet pipe, i broke the little nipple off of the stock DV. but the reocurring problem was that the DV ketp blowing itself off of the inlet pipe. not breaking, just popping off. just had to clarify those things. now it's workin like a dream!
