will they fit okay or do I need to do a bit of trimming?

Are the wiring harnessess the same or do I need to change them out?

I know theres a way to drill out the yellow reflector corners, is i an intricate process?

audiworld tech articles are your friend... you need to trim and i believe you have to rewire there is a tech that shows you how to do the install with pics iirc. and there is also an article that shows you how to clear the corners it really not hard just dont get carried away with the drill

Here's my 1 peice install on my 98.5 A4. Clear corner as well and added a modify plug to be "plug and play". Oh, forgot to mention. It's has a HID conversion also.

If i'm not mistaken, you do have to get a new wiring harness.

Not really. You can use the old plug from the two piece headlights and solder somewires onto the 1 piece. That's what I did. You can see the old plug from this picture. It was easy...

seems like replacing the plugs may be easier than splicing the wires. what do you think?

I didn't splice into the wires. I used the oem plug from the 2 piece headlights and did some soldering. If your not familar with wiring and soldering, then I guess buying a conversion plug would be easier.

Ed J, do you have some pics of where you soldered your wires on the two piece plug? I think I could probably do that if I knew where to do it. (btw, sorry if I sound lame, I just don't have much experience with electrical wires thats all)

Sorry, I don't have any picture of the solder wires. However, I can tell you that I only solder 3 wires. A ground wire, which I think is brown in the Audi and then there's a yellow wire and a white wire. One is for the high beams and another wire for the driver lights. I think the yellow wire is for the high beam and the white for the regular driving lights.
