1.8T 98 A4 FWD exhuast question!! HELP!!

Hey I own a 98 1.8T tiptronic Audi A4 with FWD. I have been looking around for an aftermarket catback exhuast for my car but it seems they only make it for the quattro models.

Can someone please tell me if there is any exhuast out there for my car? Or any companies/shops that can custom make one for me?

LOL I own the same car but w/ a 5 spd, it's not easy! Greddy, Neuspeed, and Supersprint make them from what I've found so far. I think APR does too but it's much more $.

I'm not sure what they are called(my mind is going blank) but i think they are just called exhaust or machine shops. By custom you bring your car in and they build you a exhaust to fit on your car.

Hey Miracle, I have the exact same car as you. 98 1.8T Tip FWD (Tip + FWD = worst combo).

I'm getting a Magnaflow custom exhaust put in next Wednesday, so maybe I can let you know how that goes. I also live in the NoVA area and am getting it done at a place in Woodbridge called "aaspeed". Maybe we could even meet up and you could hear the sound. I've heard nothing but positive reviews for Magnaflow so far.

Our cars gotta go custom unless you wanna pay a lot more for the Milltek system without a DP (stratmosphere.com) and then get the DP put in later. Expensive! I'm gonna try it without a DP for now, cuz I wanna keep my low-end torque. We'll see

I'm getting stainless steel on both my center resonator and muffler+tips...

Total cost for parts and labor is gonna be $550. They've been in business for a long time, so I'm guessing it'll look and sound good. I'm going to take pictures under the car too if they'll let me. Going with 2.5" piping...

Wow 550 for both parts and labor!!! Thats amazing. I was going to pay 630 just for the borla catback. Let me know how that goes!!! Do you have AIM or an Email address? I'm def trying to see how that exhuast works out.

Yea some people get it done for cheaper (like you can get aluminized instead of ss), some have had it done for about 400. I don't mind paying a little extra for the piece of mind though.

I'll PM you and maybe we can arrange a lil get-together so that you can make up your own mind by seeing it and hearing it in person. Next week...ugh, can't wait =)

I'm in the same boat as you, joeya103 is right fwd + tip= worst combo. I was at Waterfest and some vender was selling an exhaust for the fwd B5 for only $260. If you want I can give you the website of the company.
