Black smoked out lights?

Anyone know where to get them....and for cheep?

I can't remember the name of it but you basically wash the tail lights and then paint them with this stuf. I have heard you can use laquer paint and just sparay it on incrementally untill you acheive the darkness that you want. Go to autozone and ask them about it. I am pretty sure they sell it.

well lets just say that i wasnt the most Krafty Kid out there, an id rather not take my chances painting and id rather spend the money on them.......anyone know a site/place to get them?

It leaves a flat finish commonly, doesn't come out that great.

Night Shades. I did my taillights and corners the other day. If you wet sand, buff, and wax them, they come out looking like body paint.

How much are you willing to spend? I hear the Inpro's are kind of "cheap" quality. There's another place that sells a better set of smoked (or all clear) tails.

They can be found on ebay every now and then, but this is the maker, no melting issues like the InPros. MHW

I got mine from a guy online for $35. Smoked vinyl. Cool thing is, if you ever get sick of it, you can peel it off in about 2 minutes.
There is no way I would paint them unless I had replacements just in case.

That's actually his website on the back of my car. It's not up yet (I'm making it,) but I can have him cut you a set. All you need is a spray water bottle, hairdryer, credit card, and patience.

I didn't apply them myself but I was there while he did it. It took him about 15 minutes for each tail. The cool thing is he didn't even have to take the tails off of the car. Granted, the guy has been doing vinyl for about 10 years, so I'm sure it may take longer for someone who has never tried it.

If you want to email me, I can give you more details (I haven't set up his email accounts yet.) He may entertain a group buy or something since he is just starting out online.

I'm including the bulb holders/harnesses with my sale, so you don't have to worry about the bulb fitment. But, I understand if you want to keep your style.

I also like that vinyl idea, since it's reversible. I would think it would start to peel though, since the edges will be exposed. Do you have any close up pics of the vinyl job?

I'll try to get better pictures in a minute, but just so you know, the edges are not exposed. They wrap around the side and into the crease IIRC.

there was a vendor at Waterfest that was selling blacked out taillights and tinted b6 headlights. didn't catch the name of his company though, maybe someone else picked up on it.

i took a pic of the b6 headlights because they looked kinda cool.

don't mean to be a dick and take away this guy's business. but quattro30v, ken, on here is in the vinyl business and would prolly do this for cheaper. personally, i would go with ken not for the price, but to give business to a fellow AZ member. it's up to u guys. if this guy's done it before he can prolly do it better, it's just a thought
