laser-cut key question...

if you order a laser-cut key, can u program it yourself? need a quick response!!!!

What ya mean program it? For Audi keys to be ordered, they need your VIN # to order them.

you mean buy a blank and have a dealer cut it. yes you can not all dealers will do it though. someone just posted that their vw dealer was going to do it really cheap for them and their audi dealer refused to cut it.

well i'm a jackass, my sister and i both have A4's. she went out of town and i moved her car out of one of the garage slots to reach one of my surfboards, any ways i somehow lost the key (her ONLY KEY), and we just oedrered her another one, using the VIN #, so what the question is if they are already laser-cut can we pick the key up and program it ourselves? thanks for the quick reply's.

It's a chip inside the key for the passive anti-theft system. That's why your new key is costing so much. Audi doesn't make a key without one anymore.
