In one word: amazing. I was totally blown away by what these big wave sufers have gone though. I couldn't keep my eyes off the screen. The photography is amazing and I'm surprise how much of the surfing pre-Gidget was documented on film. This film includes some of the best surfing footage ever captured IHMO. Even some of the "illustarated" parts were extremely cool to look at.

Even though I have limited skills on a snowboard and no skills on a suf board, it made me want to fly to Hawaii and catch a few waves. I highly recommend this to EVERYONE, even if you don't even live near a beach. GO OUT AND SEE THIS MOVIE.

yeah, it's good. super good. I'm not into surfing, but was astonished at this movie. they showed it at a conference I was at a few months ago. crazy what those guys do

thre's also an interesting mtv show on big wave surfing, i'm sure you know the title of it JMG, i can't remember. i watched it at like 3am one night

Just saw it last night. Great flix, albeit similar to Peralta's "Dogtown and Z-boys" Amazing footage and somber reminder of Foo's death at Mavericks. If you live the Bay Area, you owe it to yourself to check out the monstrous surf off the point at Mavs. It's insanity, pure insanity.

it's almost inconceivable that a human being would voluntarily attempt to surf the waves in this movie. The scale, the sheer magnitude of watching a 40' wave break over a surfer is like watching Niagra Falls dump on top of someone's head while moving forward at high speed. Listening to some of the big waver surfers is almost like hearing people who've had near death experiences. It's like they've seen god or at least touch part of something bigger than the universe.
