I raced a buddy of mine today. I burned my clutch off the launch. It didnt smell bad for too long, maybe 10 min. This clutch has about 30k on it and its the first time ive smelled it. how bad off can it be?

It must be clutch burning night.

Did the same thing to mine coming out of my brothers STEEP driveway. I just got the car and always owned autos before so I guess I'm allowed to do this once or twice.

xburbx you are lucky, i had burnt my clutch a while back and the smell lingered for over 5 hours. I was trying to reverse and parrallel park up a hill. Towards the end of the 5 hours, the smell was very faint but i could still smell it. Your clutch is fine, expecially that the smell only lasted 10 mins

It will certainly reduce the life of your clutch, but you likely just glazed it. Normal driving for awhile will clean that off and it will get back to normal. I wouldn't make a habit of it though, as it can take a few thousand miles off your clutch.

Please don't take this personal but you have alot symptoms with your car maybe you may want to take it easy on your baby until you have cured most of the cars wierd symptoms.
My opinion, but feel free to do what you want with you car, because it's not my money filling the gas tank, repairing worn and broken items, or paying for your insurance.
    Just my 5 cents.....
