When ever I turn my A/C on, I can smell some sort of funky stinch. But after about 1 minute, that smell is gone. Any ideas what that smell is? Oh yeah, and I did change the filter about 2 months ago.

YUP! The funny thing is that it only happens in my Audi but NOT in the VW???

Anyone have a clue why? It must have something to do with the condensation created in the vents that remains...maybe the "climate control" as opposed to a standard vent system is the culprit??

actually, I don't smell anything if it's just the fan running. it's only when the A/C starts for the 1st minute

I've hear/experienced this before. It's moldy air. One thing that helps is to always shutoff your AC a few minutes before you shut off the car and just run the fan for about 5 minutes. This will help get the vents warm so they don't get condensation.
