    funky smell from A/C

When ever I turn my A/C on, I can smell some sort of funky stinch. But after about 1 minute, that smell is gone. Any ideas what that smell is? Oh yeah, and I did change the filter about 2 months ago.

There are air filters that the cold air runs through. I don't know that much about them, but they need to get changed out every so often or there is a bacteria / mold build up.

The filter is under the trim below the wiper arms.

if you turn off the a/c and leave the fan running for a minute or so before shutting off the car you won't every get moldy build up... [but yea i think that is one of the worst smells..]

He's right. Nothing to do with the "filter". It's just that mold can build up in the system, and give off that musty smell. If you turn off the A/C before shutting off the car, it can help evaporate the moisture in there.

You can also buy some stuff to run through the system to clean it out. Find it at any auto parts store.

Actually, I always turn the A/C and fan off before shutting the car off
