S6 LED DRLs on a B7

It's being painted. The painting was done on Friday but when I went to pick up the car it hadn't dried yet (stupid humid Houston weather). So I'm going back this week when I get a chance.

I'll take a couple pics of the install today. Peter did a really good job. It's ignition controlled, so it turns on with the car. The switch is in the glove box but reachable by the driver. He used the stock fog power to power the LEDs so that there is no bulb out in the DIS, but they can be turned on without the headlights. Definitely like the way he did it.

Here are my pics from today. Again, no grilles on yet.


Switch is in glove compartment. The lights turn on and off with the car, so the switch is only used if I want them off. Hence the glove box location. Guest appearance by vag-com cable.








You can see the cut for the stock fog holder and a small cut on the outside. This won't be visible once the grille is installed.

These things are freaking bright.


Look almost as bright as the HIDs...

These aren't the best pics as I took them with my phone. I'll be sure to take more with a real camera in the future when the weather isn't complete shite. to Peter and the HAP crew. I like.

Top Secret shop pics! Very clean install. Can barely tell they're added aftermarket. The use of the stock fog power helps with that a lot.






Almost done with the front. All that's left is to put on my CF front lip. The license plate would be gone (already have the filler) but I got a ticket less than 24 hours after taking it off...so it stays for now.

Found these on fortitude, and frankly i prefer the way you did them the grill doesn't look quite right in my opinion

I like both.
There is a difference in the pattern size of the small grilles vs. the RS4 grille but I think it's not too disturbing

If I were to choose I think I'd choose the second implementation with the mesh grille.

Yea, that car has a thread on these forums. I definitely like the idea. The difference in size is my only complaint, but it definitely carries out the mesh theme much better than mine. I still really like what my shop did with the stock grille and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I went out of town this weekend and forgot my camera in a friend's car in NY! So I'll take better pictures when I get it back. That's what happens when you go out the night before an 8AM flight.

The opening looks like it might be bigger on the USP front, so it's probably doable. Do you currently have fog lights there?

Yeah, I currently have fogs there. I would need to cut the fog supports out and somehow figure out a way to secure the S6 led's in place.

Look at the first post. You basically just cut it out and fill in. Takes a little time but any shop should be able to do it.
