Anyone install the RS4 lower center grill on stock bumper?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking at the RS4 lower center grill at achtuning.com, but I'm wondering how it would be installed (any instructions/pictures I've seen are all on the S4 bumper...I have stock A4).

When I take out the lower center grill, there are a few vertical bars with holes where the stock grill clips into. This RS4 grill seems to have a different design with small clips on the edges.

Has anyone installed it? I just wanna make sure it's going to fit with relative ease before I drop like 60 bucks on it.

    THanks

It won't pop right in, that's for sure. They sell the RS4 lower grilles to be used in modding, usually S4 lowers. Requires some serious cutting and gluing.

Achtuning's RS4 lowers are only for the S4 bumper not the stock A4. I'm just your could find a way to work the RS4 lowers into your A4. I was looking at the same thing and gave them call, they told me its only for the S4 bumper

There's a guy on the other forums that sells them pre-made. I think his name is Andrew Sprague. I know Moops has a set on his Avant. They look pretty darned good. I like them. Looks great w/ the RS4 grille.

This is the Andy Sprague guy...but it seems I'd have to zip tie them in. Do you have to drill any holes or can you just maybe tie them onto an existing hole/gap?

This is the best pic I have of Andy's grills on my car atm. I can take more at home tonight. I'm very happy with how they look and Andy's price/service. However here are some realistic things you can expect:

Anything but a very dark car you will want to paint to bumper supports behind the stock grills black.

I had mine on for about a year and transfered them to another car. There was some rust visible upon *close* inspection. A quick coat of spray paint fixed this.

You will scratch the paint on your bumper during installation/service where the mesh contacts the bumper. How much will probably depend on how carefully you install them.

Zip ties are the only way I know to hold it in and are only noticable if you look for them.

N here they are. Thinking of cuttin some of the middle supports out to make it look cleaner. And you cant tell where the zip ties are unless your right up close looking for them.
And I had very lil scratchin during install.

Do you have a need for speed? Then drive it like you stole it!
