Don't do it. Either run at least 91 octane w/ the chip, or don't chip it. Simple as that.

Trust me, I understand where you're coming from, but you really don't need to run a chipped car on mid-grade gas. You won't see the benefits of the chip since it will be retarding the timing.

I think APR has some 93 oct programming for some cars. I think just the DBW ones but i'm not positive.

Isn't the minimum requirement for audis 91 even without a chip?

Yea I always thought that our cars needed premium unleaded. Come on guys, this isn't a '89 Honda Civic. Give her the good juice!

stock they recomend 91 if your a student you should have gotten a car that will help you and not flip you over and do you dry. the audi is a wrong choice for you if you can afford to fill it up with the minimum requirements of gas, and or oil too. my advice to you is either work more and give your car the MINIMUM requirements it needs and deserves or get rid of it and get a civic. honestly DO NOT chip it if your gonna sheist the gas, youll just get yourself into more problems, think about this and make a decision, remember you get what you pay for.

Hate to make this about Hondas. They're a great "first" car. Got me through a lot of shit and very reliable. I'm sure you all can relate somehow.

If you add it up, gas prices are not that drastic when comparing 93 octane to the crap 89 gas. Maybe at most a couple hundred a year. So when you compare repair costs, gas should be no big deal at all.

I've never ran anything less than 93 octane, and I wouldn't even consider it.

And jones3000/MR VTEC, I agree, there's a lot of reliable cars out there, as most Hondas are, they build solid, reliable, practical car that are easy/cheap to maintain. I think that the biggest gripe against Honda is that most that buy them try to turn them into something else. After the costs, you could have owned a much nicer car. After all, most of us don't street race, and we use are cars to get around town.
