i dropped off my car to get my fuel pump replaced. they call me back saying that they can't lift up the car.

    i am so screwed.

by the way, does bad fuel "filter" makes whiny noise? becuz the dealer is saying it's not the fuel pump that's going bad. it's the filter that makes metal whiny noise.

    plzzzz help

that sucks... fwiw, your car looks tight! only solution is to drive your car up on some planks, get the anchors under the car, wedge some blocks between the lifters and the car, and bring it up. but that's not very solid either. hmm...

If you drive up on small sections of planks you should be able to lift the car with the two post lift. But then again I don't know how low your car is.

they refused service because of your body kit?? man that sucks.

you must have covered up the jack points with sideskirts I assume.

this is actually more of a problem then you realize. it also will apply to all service calls and warranty work. oil changes, etc.

what kind of body kits are you running?? ask around if others with the same setup are having problems and how their dealer copes with it?

tell them to line the outside of the lift with 2x4's...drive ur car UP the 2x4's then u should have enough clearance for the lift to get u up. shouldnt be a major issue.. thers no way they can "refuse" ur car thats ridiculous..

    air jack

search the internet, i think their is a company that makes an air jack, you can leave it in your car so the dealer can use it, they should be able to get it high enough for their lift. I guess its a bladder that can withstand a couple thousand pounds and a compressor plugged into your lighter .

A bad/clogged fuel filter will make a buzzing/whining noise from the rear of the car. Seems to happen more on the east coast or places with humidity. My fuel filter took a shit on me when I was up in the snow in Tahoe... i was like WTF is this sound??? Your fuel PUMP should be good, just replace the filter yourself if you have too, shouldnt be very much. You just need basic tools.

    Good luck

heh "do it myself?" you must be crazy... i am not superman like you.

anyway, i called some racing shop. they said filter is about 25 bucks and only half hour install job.
they had no problem lifting up my car. since they work with super low Porsche's and Ferrari's

Got a question, did they charge you for your alignment? Did you just requested an alignment after you lowered your without telling them that it is lowered?

If their lift is the same as my dealers lifts, then they can do it. All they need to do is place a piece of 2x4 where the front tires stop for the lift. This should lift it high enough to swing the arms underneath. They also need to flip up the tongue, so there is space between the arm of the lift and your side skirt (it needs this clearance or the lift arm will be forced against the side skirt and break it).
NOTE: If there's not enough pre-lift from the 2x4's, then just use a floor jack to lift the front up and then slide the lift arms underneath.

Tell your dealer it can be done and it doesn't take much more effort to do it. They just have to be creative and think.

they are being lazy sobs. my previous car (mustang) was dumped and everytime i took it in for service they would drive it up on wood planks to provide clearance for the lifts.

it can be easily done.....if they put a little effort into it.

Yes they can and I can explain to you what's actually going on now. Due to liability they would face if something would go wrong will trying to place your car on the lift they can choose not to work on your car. All they are going to tell you is that "your suspension is not OEM making it difficult to get your car on the lift." Your alignment was done by them because the suspension you currently have didn't fully settle in. I had the same problem with my 330xi and not too many dealers would work on my car since I had custom suspension. I think the best thing you can do is find out which local shop is willing to work on your car buy the part and have them do the install. There is a great possibility that you may have a few minor scratches to the side skirts and front bumper but it's a sacrifice you may have to take.

Great setup on your ride BTW.
