FYI, that price is too high. Mods to not add to the price and its probably worth more like 21-22K since its a private sale.

Wow. I have to say, that's the best sales ad I ever read. Almost felt like an infomercial .

Hot car. Best of luck selling it, I love the silver and the interior, and you can't lose with the twin K04s. If I was in the market, I would be looking into it.

Can you post your dyno sheets? I'm interested in seeing how that car makes 400HP.

    Thanks,

It's in the details page. The car is ESTIMATED at that power (to the crank), it's never been dynoed. The car is a PEB Stage 3-, and I have roughly the same setup as the person that posted this: http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1692161.phtml

So I'm curious, why do you care anyway? Surely you aren't interested in buying. I am not deceiving anyone with my claims, so I don't mind posting this here, but please PM me if you just want challenge me.

Edit: I've added the link that I posted here to my sale page, hopefully this will clear up any confusion.

Dude, you advertised a car with 400HP on here. I simply ask for dyno sheets and now you're giving me an attitude, telling me that that is the "estimated" power at the crank? THIS ad clearly states 400HP. If it doesn't say estimated, then that is false advertising.

And, did it ever occur to you that maybe I have a friend in the market for a K04'd S4?

wow, rich guys with fancy cars in a pissing contest. and my wife keeps asking why i like these forums so much. who needs reality tv when you've got entertainment like this???

    sorry guys, i couldn't help giving you a hard time. : )

my boss has a 2001 avant with real RS4 turbos, huge custom spearco intercoolers, RS4 clutch, and little else. I can vouch for the rediculous amount of power that it makes. whether it has 399 or 401 hp i don't know but my neck hasn't stopped aching since the moment that clutch was broken in. the car is impressive in a straight line but was gets me most is rolling on the throttle out on the freeway. the way it generates speed is simply absurd. nearly silent and completely effortless.

Neon01 - i hope you car sell for enough to get your house situation covered. if you cry in your sleep the night after selling your car i think the rest of us will understand.

11SecS4 - i saw in a previous post that you were trying to keep your investment under 20 grand. if you've kept yourself to that goal then your car is seriously impressive. even if it cost 70 grand, i can't think of anything cooler than putting some soccer mom stickers in the windows and going porsche hunting. : )

so guys, just tuck your wee-wees between your legs, shake hands, and realize that you've both built great cars. cool?

Yes, it's true, but only because the guy I bought it from dumped a ton of money into it and then sold it to me pretty cheap. I also sold quite a few parts off the car including extras that came with it, offsetting the purchase price.

11SecS4 - i was wondering how you kept the $$$ down. the RS4 turbos and intercoolers for my boss's car were bought used when a guy got in over his head in an A4 project. even so, the shole deal was almost 10 grand with labor and that's without fueling upgrades. looks like you found yourself a hell of a deal.

Neon01 - if your car was an avant it would be sitting in my driveway right now. other than that, it's damn near perfect.

onemoremile - Well most people just go to a shop and pay through their teeth in not only labor, but also on the RS4 turbos and ICs. The RS4 parts in Germany go for a FRACTION of what they cost here in the states. For example, I can buy a brand new RS4 MAF in Germany for something like ~$150 with shipping. Here in the states, everyone wants $400 to $450 for it! The other mistake people make is paying way too much for labor. A lot of shops like to make people think that the K04s are a major nightmare. I've heard stories of people paying like 30-50 hours worth of labor for a simple K04 upgrade! Unbelievable! My friend recently just put a set in his S4 himself in his garage and it only took him 10-12 hours. That's with hand tools and no lift.

I bought my S4 complete with the K04s and Sportec tuning for $22K and change, but sold the interior for $2K, a spare set of rims with snow tires for $800, a 93 octane Sportec-tuned ECU for $1800, the stock suspension for $250, and a few other things that escape me at this time. I did put a little money into the car, but my investment is still slightly under $20K at this time.

    Later,

    Marc

Sorry you feel I took an attitude. Initially I saw your post as nothing but a challenge, and probably posted rashly. I've posted a disclaimer in the thread subject so that all know I'm referring to estimated figures.

I'm really not trying to get into a disagreement here, but I would appreciate it if you could take your discussion to another thread. This is a For Sale thread, and since you haven't contacted me I can only assume you're not interested in buying my vehicle. You may have gotten an exceptional deal on your car, but I think it's bad form to discuss this kind of thing here. Thanks.

Onemoremile - thanks for your kind words.

People asked me off-topic questions about my car, so I answered them. Sorry if you feel that's "bad form" to answer questions on your thread, but I did it out of courtesy to the others.

Good luck selling your "estimated 400HP" S4.

Someone just sent me an email referencing this post. I downloaded the email with my Outlook client, but as I did my computer shut down without warning. When I came back to Outlook the email was no longer there. Please send your email again, whoever you are, I'd be glad to answer all your questions. Sorry for the hiccup.
