    19" Rim question. PLEASE HELP!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Okay, I've been wanting to put a set of 19" rims on my A4. It's an automatic so I'm going for looks, not performance, with the car. My VW buddies are tearing me up for it, saying the ride quality will be DRAMATICALLY affected, tires don't last, and saying pretty much anything they can to sway my decision. Can someone please give me the REAL pro's and con's from an A4/S4 point of view? Like I said, I'm not going for performance, just looks. I know 1" can't make THAT much of a difference.

Why not just go with 18's? Tires for 19" rims are $$$$.

18s with the right drop will look good. 19s are too much hassle

There are some 19" tires that are cheaper than 18" ones.

if you want 19's then go for it. you must have your car lowered, though if you are doing 19's. also, will most likely need some fender rolling and trimming. But for the looks, you cannot beat 19's.

I just got the 19" RS4's from Achtuning last month. They are so sic. In my opinion my car rides and handles so much better than with the stock rims/tires. They are a sweet ass deal too. 19" RS4's with Audi caps and lugs and 235/35/19R Yokohama AVS Sport tires mounted and balance for $1700. Those tires sell on TireRack alone for $1000. I have had through my cars and years every size rim 16, 17, 18 and now 19's. Do it. You won't regret it. I didn't. Yesterday my buddy stopped by with his A4 and he just bought the 18's in the same rim and with our cars next to each other he was really dissapointed that he didn't spend a little more $ and get the 19's.

Just get something with decent treadwear, I'm getting my 18" BBS wrapped in Bridgestone Fuzions, they're incredible tires! I jumped from 16s to 18s and there was a difference in the ride but not a big one, the better handling makes up for that.

jus go 19's. the ride quality isn't bad at all. i'm running vogtland sport springs and koni adjustables. 18's look good, but i like the 19's, to me the car looks a lil more muscular. and if you just wanna look good, i'm sure you'll cruise more than drive hard, so that should save some of the tread life of the tires.
